LL's announcement that they will terminate the forums has drastically cut down on the dhrama and nit pickery that had become the forums.
There's nothing like fresh blood to satisfy the ravaging wolves in the street, and with the forums left to die a slow, torturous death, the wolves have moved on.

Ive quite enjoyed the forums the past week or so, infact apart from the 3 days straight after the announcement when we had one shit post after an other it went back to its self.. Im gonna miss these.. the only forum I actually use every day..

Oh no, I don't hate it at all. I think its a brilliant move on the part of LL and Philip Linden. If by "brilliant" you mean "selfish" then sure. It means fewer interuptions of his precious Lego play-time. These forums may die at the hands of their master, but luckily more than a few people have decided there is need for discussion between residents, something the actual Second Life client lacks. As an added bonus, some of these alternate forums give us a chance to interact with people who have questions about Second Life before their decision to join. As acommunity many of us want to answer their questions, and the questions of existing residents. One such place is my clone of these forums on my Second Life Home Page Portal. http://forums.slhomepage.com Linden Lab may not want to provide space for the community, and think this move furthers their "platform" plan, but it is simply an indicator that while they can staff the company to pimp the system to the media, they can't pay to support the already paying community and their desire to interact. _____________________
