Well im faily new (9days) and ive heard alot about new changes coming out. I havent read any official word, but some very old SLers confirmed things to be gone in a month or two. I want to know how these effect the economy and buinesses in general. I probably mis-named them horribly, sorry: Visitor bonus Stipidends
Stips I understand, no point to a tiny amount of money weekly and keeps money recyling.
But the money from people visiting, chilling at your land.. Whats that about? Im hoping its vicious rumor because my club is almost built. We've plugged ALOT of money into it and are paying like 50$ a month for it. It was under the influence that we could pay that 50$ off by selling lindens. We dont want a profit, just want to make a popular club. Now if im figuring this right. We won't get ANY money no matter how many people visit our place and no matter how long they stay. Wouldnt this kill alot of hang out spots, giving way to malls only. How will alot of the newbie areas stay alive, the ones that without I would still be crying in frustration at this game. Will I need to have tons of vendors now, just to amke ANY money? Or those lame 'I take 1/2 the pot' raffle balls? We were hoping our club could be a free and fun place to hang out.. and it will be until our pockets are empty.. but it seems with these changes coming, clubs and chill spots are going to get shot in the face.
Can someone please explain it to me and/or direct me to a official word on it. Also anything I messed up or forget to add on the subject.
Im loving this game and would hate to see it die, just as I really get into it.

I'm not sure how soon, but they have already been partly cut, I believe, and within another cut or two they will definitely be gone. They even used to give a stipend for holding events, but that was before my time (I came in February of 2005). I bemoan this myself, even though I'm not an entertainer in SL, because I was an entertainer in TSO and I know how it goes. Some people reason that anyplace worth going to should be able to charge admission. I'm not holding my breath on that one, though. I believe the idea is also that it doesn't matter, though, because the entertainment will come from outside companies who don't need to make it pay off, because it will be advertising for their new albums and whatnot. Personally, I didn't come here to get advertised at by outside companies, and I imagine a lot of other people didn't as well, so I figure they probably can't kill off resident entertainment sources all that easily after all. Maybe tip jars would be the way to go? coco
