Totally confused by 41 forums

Am I the only person who's becoming increasingly confused by the forums?

I just had a look, and there appear to be 41 main forum sections on the front page in which I could have posted this message. If this isn't the right place, I apologise!

Does anyone else think this is too many, or do I just have less brain than everyone else?

i think its fine...*almost* every one serves a purpose.

It confuses the hell out of me... Only because the organisation of the forums does not fit my needs... I read about 3-4 of the forums available, but I must hunt for the ones I want ;0

There are little icons on the right of each main category header bar that look like this:



Click them to collapse/expand and simplify your view.

Also, I once had a crazy idea about a "General General" forum where ANYTHING that could also be in ANY OTHER forum can go. It'd be completely unsorted. If you're tired of hunting of a place to post--hey, you can post in "General General!"

(Crazy, I know. But that's why I said so.)

Just one problem with taht torley ;0 There are only two sections that do not contain a forum I wish to read ;0 I'm left with about 25 forums and still only 4 I want to look at.

I did that a few days ago, after working out what I might want to see or not.

But the next day, they were all expanded again. I hadn't logged off or changed users - I only have the one. I've found it increasingly unfriendly for casual readers

Freya: This happens in different browsers? For me, it only resets if I close and open Firefox 1.5 again--it does persist if I leave it open.

Baba: True enough--wish it were more controllable.

I use IE 6.0.2900. That's all I have, and I don't want to install something else, no matter how much you all say I should (Sio). All other forums and pages that I use remember me and my settings, but I haven't had that success with SL forum.

The forums have descriptions that give a good idea of what belongs in them. This thread, for example, wouldn't go in Scripting Tips, because it doesn't have anything to do with scripting. Same for the rest of the content creation forums. It wouldn't go in the classifieds because it isn't offering a product, or land, or announcing a special attraction, etc.

Those who only want to look at certain forums can make bookmarks for those forums, for example, if you like to look at Scripting Tips, Design and Textures, and Announcements and News, you'd bookmark Scripting Tips , Design and Textures , Announcements and News .
