There's something like 55 new sims that opened up. A lot of beachfront property and water. And it looks like there's a valley area, too.

Visit the new sims now to experience SL at hyper-speed... that's right, everything seems to be running twice the normal speed... run when you walk, or move like lightning when you run... and fly around superfast without attachments.
Too bad it's due to a supposed bug.

I'd call it mothamagic, perhaps. I think because of Heterocera Atoll (the northern continent), there are more sims named thematically after moths than any other theme (i.e. colored sims like Blue and Aqua).

Question from a FNG
11-11-2005 11:36
Heyas all, This thread seems like a really good one to pose my newbie question in. How big is the Second Life world in terms of continent's oceans, etc? Reason I ask is: I've got the premium account, bought extra land, joined a couple of groups that I share said land with and built a nice home to live in while I am InWorld. Now I am exploring the world, getting out and way from my home for at least 30 days solid, trying to log into a new spot each night. I've seen a lot of amazing things in the couple of days I've been traveling but some things I cannot -find/search out-, like New York or London. I did find the Hanging Gardens of Babylon but checking on the map saw that they are not far away from my home in HooDoo. Everything and all visited sites have been in the viewable portion of the world map I see in my settings so far. Is there anyway to get a total map view of the entire world. I want to see all the beauty and imagination realized of Second Life but seem to be stuck in my small part of the world (Northern/Southern Continent?) Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Painless Black Wolf (Painless Kawabata ... InWorld)

Happy trails to you!

There is a slider on the map which allows you to focus in on a few sims or zoom out to view the entire grid. You can also click and drag the map to zoom in on another area.

Painless, be sure to visit the city of Nova Albion, made up of Grignano, Miramare, Barcola, Sistiana, and Luna (Luna is just a shopping center though, but is pretty). The Dore-Luna Trolley runs through Nova Albion. The beautiful sim DarkWood is an elven-themed sim. The great Forest of Kahruvel is in many sims, and is a lovely place to explore. Another wonderful place is the old fishing village in Cowell, not far from the Ivory Tower of Primitives in Noyo. Mount G'al in Mahulu is an important Second Life spot. Loki Pico's upside down room (look in his profile) is great fun! Visit Seacliff - you won't be sorry. There are many fab and amazing places.

However, the word out on the street is that Old London might turn up again before Christmas - could happen!
