Ok, I'm in the middle of yet-another-build that isn't just me messing around, it has a deadline attached. This prim disappearing thing is happening, again. I can stand on a prim, and it goes away, the physics engine knows its still there - I don't drop to the floor below.
Arbitrary prims go bye-bye, in linked sets, or not - doesn't matter. You can sometimes get them to come back if you whip the camera around for a bit. Its my only option. Textures -- changing U/V repeats doesn't update immediately, it takes a few seconds, or you have to select something and go back to see it 'take'. I've heard rezzing texture problems, but this hasn't hit me yet. Just saying - when the lindens get into the office Tuesday...could someone look at this? Its driving me nuts. But, I have to build - because I have commitments. Very irritating. _____________________

Very irritating. I noticed this as well, Maxx. What concerns me is that core functionality which has been around for years is now bugged. The texture bug is particularly frustrating -- took me a little while to realize it was just a delay and not broken completely. And to have to continually change camera angle so prims that are disappearing are reappearing is a huge pain. How were these bugs not caught? Hey, LL, are you doing regression testing?! Because this is just embarrassing. The biggest concern I think, and something which Maxx mentions, is that many developers are now doing work for businesses keen to use the Second Life platform. Is LL ready for this? If content developers can't rely on a certain level of functionality -- especially core stuff as mentioned above -- what are they supposed to tell their clients? As a designer blaming the tool when work goes undelivered is unacceptable -- and yet, in this case, there is no other tool to use. How are developers supposed to champion this product when it places them in this kind of position? _____________________
