(new changes in the preview grid):

From: someone
* Improved In-world Classified Ad System
- The new scheme features the following changes:
- The new starting price for ads has been decreased from L$250 to L$50 for a one-week run
- Dynamic pricing of ads
- The poster determines the price they pay for the posting (starting at L$50)
- Direct teleportation links are now embedded within each ad
- The list of ads can now be sorted by the price paid to post the ad (from high to low, or low to high)
- We have also improved the interface to make it more intuitive to residents

So they asked for our input on this idea... got TONS of negative feedback on it... and implemented it.

Bravo, Lindens for listening to your userbase.

I guess it's a way of having us bid up the ads.

What I find particularly annoying about the in world classifieds, is that there's no notification that your ad is about to expire. I don't keep a note although I know i should, but if ONLY there were some automated message that it reminds you when it has, say, one day left to run, then I wouldn't have to keep typing it out again !

I like the idea of paying more to get listed higher.

We won't see ads like "!!!!!!!~~Item Here" anymore.

Yeah, I'm with Aaron on this one.

Why bother posting a thread asking for feedback if you're just going to do it anyway?

Here's a protip: Just do it anyway, seeing as you're gonna, and skip the whole "participatory process" deal.

Kthx.

Im not sure if the ads will get removed when they expired, as you can create one in your profile without getting charged, your only charged when you goto click publish, i've already submitted a bug report that the payment box should indicate that the minimum price is 50L$ and it is a bidding type system with no maximum price and that higher bids will be placed higher on the list, i also suggested that there is an auto renew option which can be updated like any other option eg mature etc.

You can list for free on SLExchange and you'll probably sell just as much.

I don't sell things, but I actually got a bit more traffic into my club and potential employees found their way to my doorstep as well using the ingame classifieds so I know they work even if its on a small scale.
