I think this will continue to push the users of second life into isolation from each other. We will each go to the blog of our own thinking and intrests. If someone disagrees with the views of someone in their blog they will just block them from posting.
This blog will never replace the forums. The forums have their problems but at least it gives one a sense of what is going on.
