So, two years ago me and my Gf are looking at this game we found called SL. Now we both had played TSO exstensively, and she had given There or Them or whatever it was called a shot. We liked how the game looked so we figured we'd give it a try. The only problem was that my computer sucked and it couldnt play yet. Generous as she was, she bought her account (Back then basic accounts werent free) and my own as well so that we would match when I got in. This, my friends, leads us to todays problem. She registered my account under her email address which was AOL at the time (She uses RR now, not AOL) and as such, the secret question would be something she picked on her own anyways. So now Im left, no acess to my account and locked out. No way to retrieve and secure my new password, and Im told the only way back in is to make a new account. Its been a fun two years, but I dont know if I want to try being new all over again.... PS: It might have been nice to make the PS reset optional... "Our DB has been hacked, information and passwords have been leaked. It is advised you change them now or play at your own risk..."

Sadly, yours won't be the only story like this. Most of them, we won't hear at all. The people will simply be gone. I'm sorry. You didn't deserve this.

Heir... you might be in luck. This is a longshot, but..... If I'm not mistaken, AOL is switching all accounts to free that utilize the broadband access method. AND - if you had a previous account, you can reactivate it for free. I'd call AOL customer service, and see if she can reactivate her old AOL account (for free), and then use it to pick up your challenge response. Hope this helps & good luck!

Feeling for ya I have no idea what email I had my alt registered under, it was quite awhile ago and the email no longer exists, apparently, since it's not coming to my 2 active emails. However I am assuming that when the phone help is available and we're able to get through the busy signals, we should still be able to somehow eventually access the account.
