After all this time I never could remember the name I used in beta testing here. For whatever reason I was sitting here and remembered it and my wife's names. I just sent a message to tech support billing but maybe someone here can answer this for me.

Does anyone know if I reactivate it will it have the beta test status on my profile and will the land offer made back then for something like $275.00 still be good?

Either way I am excited I found that. Looks like I will be adding him to the roster.

No, you won't have a lifetime membership option with a free 4096 :)

Thanks Eggy. I appreciate you letting me know.
I wonder if the beta status will be there.
Either way he is coming out of retirement. It feels like I will be reviving an old friend lol.
I played it up until LL cut off anyone not willing to pay the monthly fee back then. Had I realized then what I do now.... :)

Wish I could remember mine. Never cancelled it, just forgot about the "game/world/virtual reality experiment" for a long time. :D I remember the first name, just don't remember the last.

I got my beta name back, but I'm sorry to inform you that the characted arrives blank, as if it were just born. You'll have the standard member distinction and no offers are still valid. However! Beta names are priceless. ;)

If you didn't pay for SL after beta ended, your beta account was marked defunct. It takes phone help to get it turned back on. If you can, be prepared to give the email address you used to sign up and all your pertinent info when making the call. Keep in mind that calling doesn't guarantee that you'll get it back.

Beta member status doesn't get much of an ooh or aah any more.

Maybe a bit of a splash with people from 2004, but nowadays, most members couldn't care less. "There were telehubs on the mainland? What's a telehub? That's a 'beta' last name? I had no clue."

Sometimes I cruise around on my main account (Des is an alt) and... honestly, nobody really cares how early you signed up, or recognises an early name.

Single 4096m for life packages, in the grand scheme of things, ain't much either.

Get some friends together, start an island, and you'll not only have a lot more than 4096m to play with left over, you'll have a little income too.

The exceptions being that if you managed to get control of several free 4096m account tiers (friends that got bored and haven't played since 2004 or such as that). Or if you choose to take years off and come back - it's hard to let property really rot for multiple years without free tier.

There are lots of unknown 'noobs' born in 2006 who genuinely can laugh all the way to the bank at anyone being smug about tierless 4096m. Consider the number of private islands out there.

Bah.. not looking for the oohs and aahs hehe. I am just glad I found it. It would be nice to have the tag just because it was nice to be there then.

The Island idea is something I have kicked around. Not sure I am ready just yet but I am paying for the 1/4 region tier right now. It is certainly something to consider. Thanks for the suggestion Des. :)

Thanks Moo for the response about the other part of my question. I would have kept the account open but at the time TSO was still in full swing and There was up and coming. Had I known then that I would abandon both of those to head here permanently I would have gone for the montlhly fees hehe. It seems to me it was more then 9.95 then. Maybe not though.

I was thinking I was gonna see that old school avie but if it starts over like new I bet I will be choosing a new default skin.

Like you said though.. having the name back will be priceless. :D

Vicenzo,

The Beta Contributors Board is still up in Plum with all of the Beta names on it. Maybe if you checked it out you might see your old name and be able to revive it.

Odd neither my wife or my name is listed. We were both Underhills.

At least I will have the underhill name again. :)

It's not about oohing and aahing. It's about being a part of the past and remembering it. It felt really good to get my original identity back. Also, the very same day I got my name back, within an hour of having it back, the person that got me into beta recognized my name. It was so cool having my friend back!

Actually, 1250 USD, plus maybe another 250 just to make sure you got some tier margin in case of some unforseen events. :)

Honestly, people *do* come together for quality sims and community. Among 15 people, that 1500 USD I mentioned above becomes.... 100 USD each for zoned 4096m. Instant sim!

This is why the map is getting packed in solid with island sims.

Compare spending that same 100 USD in sims like Blingtard, Scriptlag, Impossibleslope, Casino, Forsalesign, Unsupervisedminor, Sexfreak, or Tackyneighbour.

Oh, wait, not their real sim names? Not officially, I guess...

It's nice that we can decide where we want to be. I love the mainland.
