free accounts...even more screwed than paying ones?

Ok, I have one of the free accounts. I have exausted all my guesses for the password including having the stuff emailed me more than once. I am totally pissed because I have become an sl addict (lol...sort of). So, guess I have to call monday and hope they help me out. Here's my question/topic/conspiracy theory... do you all think that LL will say screw you to the free customers and only help out those who are paying members? If not, to you think that the paying members will receive much better and faster service? If they were smart they would not piss off the free customers because they are potential paying ones someday. I know that I am considering it once my rl finances are better.

ps... I know that technically I should not be bitching about this since I don't pay for it but I have invested many hours a day into this as well as developed many close friends. I hate to lose all that now.

Hedgie, it's not much fun in your situation. I doubt they're having much fun over at the LL phone lines right now. I found the staff Lindens to be very patient and helpful when i got through. Hang in there.

Do you have any payment info on file even if you have a free account?
I have a free account, but have my info on file lest I need to buy some $L or decide to upgrade.
Anyhow, I think that if you do there may be a simpler way to fix this problem than if you don't, but that's just my guess.
