Proposal 674: Prim overload returns should be strictly last in / First out

Hi!

Beacuse of the latest events, and others, I have made a proposal that the automatic return of objects due to prim overload of land sould be strictly on a last in / first out basis.

I have in the past lost stuff because of accidental prim overload ( a huge Zeppelin floating over my already full land), and it irritated me no end that I had to rebuild and relink my house because of the prim overload.

I believe the prim overload (and prim attack) issue would be a lot less troublesome if the autoreturn of overload prims operated on a strict Last In, First Out basis.

Then the newest (either your own, or the intruding) prims would be returned, and you would be able to avoid the whole hassle of rebuilding.

If you like this idea, give it a vote.

This is definitely a nasty bug. LL, fix it please.
(Make sure you file bug reports, too)

Hi Jesrad,

Thanks for your support.

I copied my original post to the Features forum, since I think it really belongs there.

It probably is not a bug, "just" a missing functionality. It would not hurt though, to treat it as a bug and submit reports about it, since it bugs the heck out of me! And it plain Shouldn't Be.

I have maybe 3 posts in the forum ever, so I was maybe a bit uniformed to put the post here. But it occurred to me when I read about the SL Space Server crash here in General, so I added it here as being of current interest.

Agreed on the last in first out return idea.... fortunately, I had recently cleared up a lot of prims and had quite a few to spare when this attack happened. I was working on my house at the time, so was quickly able to check how many prims there were and returned all 77 of them to the offending person before the sim died.

i remember this subject coming up awhile back.. still a great idea. it makes perfect logical sense.. one wonders why it hasn't been implemented already!

i had 2 votes left to use.. i put them both towards this Prop., i hope to see it go through someday.

Ugh - I thought they fixed this already! Good call on the proposal.

I think they should add a feature where you can add names of people whose objects actually belong on the land (useful for group land where objects arent set or deeded to group). Then you can list them in order of whose should be deleted first if anything ever happens that causes a prim overload. This would be ideal because it would definatley get rid of the unwanted prims first.

eep I thought so too. Well if the world got wiped I would think they would of done a server rollback of say 15 min. Which we know they can do, but don't usualy do for individuals.
