In the sim Rydal, the land was green. A few weeks ago it changed to gray. Will it ever return to green?

Obviously, you have killed the life force of the simulator. Good job.

No, the green shall never return to you. Mourn it well.

Furthermore, as Second Life goes to the Metaverse, and this becomes an open platform, Linden Lab risks lawsuit in court and [attachment culling] will, I repeat WILL be reverse in court.

Did you remember to water it? Try replanting with some rye grass and use some Miracle Grow on it once a week.

I do mourn it. I only own a part of the sim, not the entire sim.

I can only do that on my land, not in the rest of the sim

Levity aside, if the terrain texture of your sim has changed then you should contact Linden Labs and get it changed back. Rydal is a mainland sim, you have a right to expect that the terrain shape and texture remain unchanged. Raise hell if you have to.

On and nearby your plot called "Wishing on a star" I see both green and gray, like it might be supposed to be moss on stone.

Uhm, texture sure. Terrain you have no right to anything outside your own parcel. If your neighbour wants to build a mountain, they can. For that matter, has the elevation of the terrian been changed? The texture DOES depend on this. From sand at water level to green grass, then to bare rock!

Could be just a glitch too. Terrain is actually textured in layers, and I've had times where I'll log in and one of the layers never loads, so it's stuck as lava rock instead of having the patchy grass on top. Try flushing your cache from Preferences->Network and logging back in.

Also, you can go to World->Region/Estate even on mainland sims and look at what the region terrain textures are.

I cleared the cache and that did not help. I checked World->Region/Estate and the boxes look as if the 3rd box which should be green is gray. box1 is gray, box 2 is green, box 3 is gray.

the row below is gray green green

I will try asking support and see if that is what is the problem

The recommend solution is to remove SL from my pc. unplug modem
count to 10
replug modem
restart pc
install SL client on my pc.

Since I am taking the pc in on Monday for tuneup and upgrade, I will wait until I get it back to see if this works.

Thanks for your information.

I suppose it varies, but when I have to do that I'm supposed to wait at least 30 seconds.
