I find that often times when I log into SL, my friends list refuses to show who is online. Everyone is marked as offline until someone IMs me - then only that person appears on my FL; the rest of the friends are still offline, despite their actual status.
This started approx a week and a half to two weeks ago. Originally, I figured that people just weren't on for whatever reason, but then I realised that the friends list was giving me trouble - anyone have this happen and know what to do to fix it?

It's happening to me constantly. Worse, now I can't even access my browser friends list, which means I don't know if anyone is one or not.

Yea this has been a continuing issue for me for about a week or so now. I so far haven't heard from a linden about it and have bug reported it a couple times. I complained so much about things LL does that i think they blacklisted my email address by now...

No idea why it's happening or how to fix it. Although, by logging in to the sl site, and going to community or something, it should show your online friends. Hope that helps Pucky.

Is this even being addressed?

This issue has been aggravating me for a while. The friends list shows blank. I was dealing with it ok until I stopped being able to access the list via the web browser. Also there are times when it will not allow you to IM anyone who does not show as online to you. Or you get the nice surprise of IMing someone that /is/ showing as online only to find that they are indeed offline.

Its an off and on situation. Usually just a relog fixes it for me.

Community -> Friends Online at the website won't load for me either, though the ingame friends list not showing up has been happening on and off for quite a while now. Today is the first time that a relog or two didn't fix it though.

When this happens, you can manually check if someone is online by searching for them. That will show the correct status. Its a drag to do ... but it will tell you if you need or want to know and cant access the webpage.

Searching for someone or looking on the friends list shows them as offline. The only way to trigger them to be listed as offline for your client is to either IM them or walk up to them in world and re exchange friendships. The way i see it is something failed and the only way to fix it is to jog it back manually. This is most likely a user server issue. I remember last year i had a problem where i could not map any of my friends or recieve group proposals. A lindens had to reset the user server to fix it. I'm guessing the user status runs on timer sensors or trigger events lol.

the first time this happened to me I was confused, then I realised that I just dont have any friends. *munches a BLT and plays scrabble alone.

Re: web page not loading -- I thought it might be a browser issue, so tried a browser other than my standard Safari. Yesterday, there were serious problems and the friends page in community wasn't loading anywhere most of the day. Maybe I have too many friends? One trick someone just told me: if you share a group with your friends, check their status there. Seems to work. *smiles & waves at Puck*
