So, Panthar Orlowski showed me this site (warning, safe for work but VERY large - 400 tiles here) LINK - I was so taken by the detailed pixel-work here, I decided to save, resize and reformat each tile from its native .png into 24-bit .tga's. Suffice to say, that cost me about $4,000 L and some time, but the best part was Panthar's rezzing script, that allowed variable-sized versions to be rezzed. At one point, we had the entire Cordova sandbox covered with each tile, allowing you to see what the whole city looked like from the website. Anyway, thanks Panthar - totally was fun and reminded me of older SL days of wacky ideas made real. I'll get some pics up if someone hasn't beaten me to it on Snapzilla yet. Pixels ROCK. (It truly deserves to be seen live, though - really cool.)

Whoa... Thanks for the heads-up. It reminds me of Habbo Hotel but looks like he's a Taiwanese. Incredibly neat.

It is certainly like a cartoon, but the detail to which I'm referring is in the entire layout - from the robbers fleeing the cops on the highway, to the insanely detailed gantry work on the Space Shuttle launchpad. There's lots of characters in there doing some fun things, you really have to take a good look at it.
So, simple palette, sure - but there's a lot to see, which is what inspired me to see it all in-world.

Personally, I'm not a fan of isometric line drawings like that (the lack of perspective makes me want to puke), but to each his own I guess. I do have to agree though that the scale of this thing is pretty awesome, even if I hate the style of it.
