Am I missing something? Probably. I can't easily work out the footprint size of the first land I've obtained at Pogon. Using the map, I get it to be 15mx30m, which can't be right if it's 512m2, so presumably it's actually 16mx32m? I want to buy one of Bill Stirling's Imogen Homes: http://www.slboutique.com/index.php?p=buy&itemid=7188But only if it's going to fit. He says it has a 25m x 14m footprint, but it looks so square (rather than long) in the picture. Bill isn't available to ask until June 1st. I'm also a bit bothered by the placement instructions, "place the house in edit"? Right-click and select edit after dragging and dropping right? If the doors aren't linked, I just want to make sure I don't lose them. Thanks in advance -- Dillon

Pictures in SL are always a little off perspective, most designers who build lower prim houses for 512 parcels will let you know the footprint and give you a prim count (as Bill so thoughfully did) so you will be fine. I think 16m wide is correct, I know I build my sky houses at 15m and I'm just within property lines. I'm not sure about the doors so someone else will have to take that one

Dillon, if you click the Build button before you pull the house out of inventory you'll be able to move it around without getting bits out of place. If it's copiable, though, and you do get parts misplaced, you can just delete it and rez a new copy. If it isn't copiable you need to be more careful as you have only one.

I looked at the house - it's not copiable, so be careful. It also looks rectangular, so don't worry. If you want a bit of practice first, Enjah Mysterio has a simple build-your-own-house kit that comes with an illustrated instruction book and all the pieces needed, which costs just 50L at her shop in the Brownstone East in Grignano.

I would construct a shape 25x14 m and see if it fits.
To measure the size of the plot you could turn on View property lines, put prims on the property line in appropriate places, read their positions, and do some arithmetic or math.

Guys -- so many different answers, all helpful. Thank you. A couple of things had me "Doh"--ing. "Build button before" I pull the house out of inventory..."View > Property Lines", etc. (Why didn't I know about that?) And yeah, the non-copyable thing is what worried me Osprey. I've got a bundle of pre-fab homes which I don't particularly like, and I've been disassembling one on my land and turning it into something quite different (a cafe bar more than the modernist home I intended according to my neighbours, so I figured I'd just buy a prefab I like ). Of course, I don't have to worry about making mistakes with these (all copyable). -- Dillon
