Why cant i sell stuff on the Teen grid?

ok well i understand the reasons for making the teen grid and sending all the twerps there.
However i dont understand why those who have close ties rl to friends and family on the teen grid cannot retain in game comunication and contact.
If i had friends and family in there id like to retain the ability to transfer lindens to and from the teen grid.... perhaps even Sell things that are Not of specifically an Adult Nature out there but.... the lindens say i cant..... "that i dont understand"
yes we sent them there for their own protection....
i roleplay some very Adult Themed stuff.... it creeps me out when i find the cute guy chatting me up is actually cute jailbait and ive turned at least one such little twerpy in for it.
i just dont see why people who have ties to these kids should be cut off from lending a linden here an there and chatting in im and selling goods between grids......
sure id expect there to be penalties for sending Adult themed material into the teen grid, past that whats the problem?

Part of the attraction to the Teen grid from a parent standpoint is that adults aren't there. Period.

Sell your stuff thru SLX -- the parents who let their kids do TeenSL have probably got mature content excluded on their SLX account, and they can buy stuff thru SLX.

I think it's safe to assume there are already several adult predators who have managed to sneak into the teen grid. But if LL opened the door for anyone to have any contact with the teen grid at all, they'd only be setting themselves up for liability when one of those predators gets caught. They're smarter to keep it completely seperate.

However if you're really that close with anyone in there I'm sure you can communicate with them other ways, yahoo, email, skype, whatever. You can't send them things for good reason. LL would have to be constantly monitoring every delivery to be sure there's nothing adult in nature slipping through.

I don't think so either, as all the services as far as I know require in-world authentication. However, there are quite a few teens who signed up for SLEx, SLBoutique, SecondServer, whatever accounts prior to being moved to the Teen grid, and those accounts still work. A minority, for sure, but an enterprising teen could probably make a few easy bucks buying stuff for other teens. I'd be surprised if that's not already being done.

I dont think so - I think they specificly fixed a couple of holes like that that would allow inventory transfer between the grids.

fact is i have talked to people who have this dilemma an its simply this,
you invite a friend to play in your game and linden labs suddenly decides all the kids go to a supposidly safe place....
the result is that they did the right thing and sent the kid to the teen grid
these are responsible people they did the right thing and they cant even transfer lindens one way or the other tell me where the sex and violence comes into play so far? cause far as i can tell it dosent.
often its up to us to police ourselves linden labs relies on thoes who turn the annoying twerpies who got past all their high tech adult countermeasures to catch the few that are left i dont see why we could not continue to turn each other in where the transfer of Adult Themed Materials into the teen gris is concerned.... as is i suppose i could simply go next door and take the time to rebuild everything i make at my friends daughters house on their account.... tell me whats to stop me building a giant twirling phallus shaped house while im at it? besides my own concience??
yes they can use skype and a bunch of other side lined programes... but for the kid in particular apparantly the teen grid is like Griefer World... in the first day she added 15 people to her ignore list..... my friend tells me its most likely got more than its fair share of all our best weapon's scripters too
and for any other twerp who wants to take my words and quote them out of context that is soo childish... i highly reccomend going to never never land and getting yourself a child avatar ^.^

If you have friends and family in there, you should be able to communicate with them outside of SL. There are such things as telephones, instant messengers...and simply face to face talking, you know, which should be easy, given that they're your friends and family and you'll have close ties to them.

Send them a paypal and let them buy lindens with the money you give them.

Tigerlily, what is your point? What is your beef? I have a teen in the teen grid and i'm not complaining. Do you have a child there? Are your friends from middle school there? As past posters said, if I have the need to talk to my teen in the teen grid, I walk out of my computer room and into hers and say what I need to say. This also gives me the opportunity to "see" what she is up to. It's called let me be the parent of my child and monitor them. I don't want you doing that for me, thanks anyway! Please find another beef until you have a child there.

Ok derailing this thread for a moment if I may.

My daughter will soon be eligible to join the teen grid and has shown interest. Her account will have to be on my CC, and I know LL makes allowances for that.....but do I have to show proof of her age? Idealy do I need a pretty decent record in SL for us to be able to get her on the teen grid using my/our info?

Or should I just ask LL?

Am just curious to hear from another parent who has a kid on the teen grid.

Oh and yeah, I wouldn't want my kids ON the teen grid if I knew it was easy for adults unknown to me to make contact w/ them.

Mine just filled in the information with correct birthdate. Doing that, sends them to the teen grid. Blue and the other Lindens that work there have been real responsive to me as a parent with any concerns or ideas that I have to help make my daughter's experience a pleasant and safe one. I would suggest messaging Blue prior to registering your child. Ask him first

Well Enabran, I was thinking perhaps that maybe if we spoke in a way that increased our vocabulary at the expense of paragraphs and even sentences that one would find at a college level then maybe you could zero in on what was being discussed, feel strong enough about to comment on, and suggest ways to that will improve the quality of the thread for all of us readers apt to stop by and read this forum posting... lol
