"Virtual Trump: Making money off imaginary land holdings" from the Associated Press in the Canton Repository NEW YORK (AP) — For a landlord, meeting the tenants for the first time can be a tense experience. “They are expecting to see a greedy land baron,” Ailin Graef says as she looks around a conference room filled with a hundred or so people who participate in the virtual three-dimensional world known as Second Life. In that world, Graef is the richest person, with holdings worth $200,000 in real-world money. That figure would be chump change for The Trump, but it’s impressive if you consider that Graef started out with a $10 investment a year and a half ago -- and turned virtual real estate into real money. I have read and thought the name Anshe Chung so many times it no longer seems like an avatar name. I don't guess that will ever happen for people who picked avatar names like "redplasticmonkey Doolittle".

From: James Miller That person they were talking about IS Anshe. Yes. It is more clear in the original publication on the AP website.

I have to say, meeting Anshe in person was a wonderful experience. She is beautiful and poised and very personable.
I was a bit nervous but her husband Guni put me at ease and they both are really nice people. Easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. I also loved Guni's accent, you know that sexy German accent. LOL.

Well I can only speak for me but I have a general idea of what the map of the world looks like. Usually at least once a day I will scan the Northern Continent or the private islands on the Western side of teh map and look for names I don't recognize.

There is also the current odd behavior (bug?) that sometimes you have to zoom in really closely to see new, newly-added regions in Heterocera Atoll. For example, right about now, look for Galiata. Another good and easy sign, especially with landchunks amassing quickly, is simply to look for new telehubs in a general location you've not noticed before, since these stand out easily on the World Map and can be quickly zoomed into.

From: someone Second Life is reminiscent of online role-playing games like World of Warcraft, but instead of centering around incessant monster-slaying, it's about creating an alternate life for yourself in a world where you can build anything you can imagine, if you have the skill.

I've never met Anshe in SL or RL but I have to applaud her for what she has accomplished. *standing applause for Anshe's accomplishments*
This is the type of accomplishment that will give virtual space it's due attention.
