LL please leave the forum alone. i know that if i leave SL over this, 1000 more people will signup and be rooked the same way. So it's also a pointless move. LL if you really had any ounce of customer support or caring left in you, you would leave the forums as is. What am i saying i'm talking to the wind.. Just another fucking SOE... Except SOE has forums.

Guild Wars doesn't. Blizzard does, but they're utterly pointless -- any meaningful conversation occurs on third-party fora, because the official fora are a cesspool of junk and because the company doesn't want to offend its own customers, it refuses to moderate them properly. After seeing the two in action and comparing, I'm surprised any company runs official fora for any game -- their fans are always better served by having the conversation occur in someplace with more objective moderation. It's one thing Arena.Net did right, and it's good to see SL move in the same direction.

Yeah you think forums are only for conversation rather than knowledge shared by users.

I bet if LL came back with something like "we are redeploying Linden staff away from forum patrol to work on the Havoc engine, voice, HTTP, improving the client...", most people would be like "YAY"!

You'll be surprised. I would give them half an hour at most before they find something new to bitch about. But we wouldn't be able to hear them by then.

You really think Lindens have many folks from their labs running the forums?.... Nope!

probably 2-3 dedicated people. All the other MODS are probably working for free.
