Well..IMO...she said she was a day late on rent...{even if it was more} therefore she lost her spot for not paying the rent plain and simple. She only has herself to blame...not you.

So true if the Sim owner cant be found. She should be a business women and come and remove her item. She should realize that it make her business look bad.

This is just plain ignorant. If you don't pay your fees, you lose what you have and it isn't anyone's fault but your own.
It seems that a few places have clear and fee access to do business without hassle or obstruction and the rest are at the mercy of whatever The Linden's will move on in order to make the game an enjoyable experience for those that follow the rules. One word about that. If you can't or won't enforce the guidelines that you set down when we sign up to participate in the game, then eliminate the rules altogether or don't charge us. It is blatantly apparent that this is harassment and failure to move on this by the Linden's is irresponsible and in my opinion, it leaves the land wide open for random griefing at all times. Hell, I could walk through a mall rezzing prims in front of every shop door I saw if this is the case.

Yes It's Harrassment

The Rento-Boxes give ample time for renewing your rent, oftentimes days or weeks before the rent is actually due and you receive an IM daily letting you know exactly when your rental time is up.
It is taking a calculated risk, knowing your rent is due, and hoping no one takes your rental space in the meantime. She took that risk and lost.
He should not have set up a rental cube if they had an amicable agreement between friends. My friends ingame who have been generous and kind enough to allow us retail space in their sim or store never set up rental cubes.
If she made a threat to you, knowing it could harm your business and carried it out, yes that is harrassment and griefing, no matter what TOS says, in my opinion.
Whether or not Lindens will choose to take action is another thing, unfortunately.

Ridiculous!

I too talked with a linden. They wanted us to talk to the land owner. The real land owners in SL are not the subscribers, it is Linden Labs. If you do not pay your tier costs, then you are evicted. This is an noticer to the land owners aka Linden Labs to address an issue of abuse and harrassment.
This is a breach of the terms of service, please refer to section 5.1 Participant Conduct, sub sections iv and x concerning harassment. This, coupled with nasty offline demands, and threats constiutes a very provable and actionable situation.
I've talked with a Linden myself and gave the Abuse Team number over to have this resolved, hopefully asap. There's plenty to back up Simmy's side and if the Lindens do not make an obvious situation then the TOS means absolutely nothing in the end.
To addend: I spoke with her on a personal note and she's as admanant that she has rights to the property. This will only be resolved when LL steps in. Frankly, the one who pay the rent is the one that's got the rights to it. With an absentee landlord, only LL is going to make this resolve itself and money speaks louder than past due notices.

day late/dollar short..SOL

Well..I for one won't be shopping at this designers shop if they are going to be that nasty. It could have been anyone that rented that space and if you don't pay..you lose the space end of story. I can't believe that person thinks they can be rude and nasty to you then block your space that you paid for. If they want that space so bad they can pay you the money you paid to rent it. They can also take it up with the owner of the mall and see what the response is when they explain they were late. Far as I understand it your advised in advance when rent is due and if you can't get into game..can always contact a friend and have that friend pay the rent for you. Harrssement and griefing are against the ToS. No excuse for that behavior..ever!!!!!

Hi SImone, Sorry you are being harrassed by someone who is obviously in the wrong here. Isn't she also the same girl who was selling other peoples designs awhile back? I wouldn't worry too much about it as your designs are much better than hers.

Thanks Zsu, and I am not sure. I don't really follow the Who's Who here. Someone mentioned to me there was a post about it, but I haven't looked for it.
Basically I am not worried about her ability as a designer. I'm more concerned with having her things removed from the shop location I have paid for, up front, (am I not a landlord's DREAM??) for a year.

Well it just shows how immature this person is being by putting up shop where you have already paid. If she had paid then you would not have been able to get the spot. You paid, she didn't, you are right, she is wrong.

From: Simone Stern Yes, so if the land owner's not logged in for three months, how do I get this handled? Shouldn't there be someone handling this sort of thing?
Ideas, anyone?
No one's available at LL, and none of the Lindens online seem to ba empowered to do anything. That seems to be a tough situation. Was there no one in the owners group that could help you? I guess the only thing to do then is to report her for abuse everyday. She is griefing plain and simple and it should not be tolerated nor condoned by LL. Besides the fact that her immature antics shown here should cause a decrease in her business. I most certainly wouldn't buy anything from someone like her because of this and would assume there are many that feel the same...

I this behaviour acceptable in our cummunity??
11-19-2005 14:11
Being the new co-occupant with Simone in the Store directly opposite Grizedale’s Tele hub where the building has been vandalized and overbuilt by the previous tenant, I have found this situation must unpleasant!
As already outlined by Simone in her post, out of consideration I had Im’d the previous tenant yesterday to advise that the store structure I had built for the site had the lower panels set to phantom for her to come and remove her items.
At all times when communicating with this previous tenant Simone & I were most cordial and polite, even to the point of being sympathetic that the former tenant had defaulted and not paid rent on the store resulting in non payment activated the for rent sign, which was clearly evidence that the site was open for rent. I clearly pointed out to this former tenant that it was a business transaction done in the proper manner .. for rent sign .. paying sign for rent .. becoming new tenant, all done in the correct manner.
The former tenant addressed Simone & I in a most intimidating wayr with threats when Simone & I were not going to be swayed into letting the former tenant gain ownership again ( not that she even offered to pay for the rent at the time of the conversation )
What was alarming was being personally harassed by this former tenant earlier at the store location when I arrived back at the store to do some editing on the textures of the building. Having seen the former tenant at the tele-hub when I arrived, I hastened to fly up to the building and quickly do the editing I need to do, but this person flew along near me & I immediately tried to fly further away to avoid conflict and quietly continued to edit some texturing on the building, not saying anything to her.. which seemed to annoy her even further & was told by her “ignoring your problems wont make them go away” Good Gracious! … I was not the one with problems .. this person was becoming the problem!
Anyway, I left the store locating shortly thereafter as I felt most uncomfortable and threatened by this other persons behavior and did not return until many hours later, when a very upset Simone called me. I arrived back at the Store location to find with dismay the terrible vandalism this former tenant had done by placing her build structure right over my build & the entrance to Simone’s store. Surely there must be some rules & regulations to prevent this kind of situation and behavior of such people from happening?
Second Life is a game .. I would think primarily that for the good of it’s community is for the citizens to interact harmoniously & not let this be a breeding ground for nasty people to victimize others due to their own shortcomings and exercise their dominance. Am I right on this call ?
