Take your medicine and swallow it down
Drown your sorrows in a bowl of pain now
You've got the confidence You have the smile
Fool everybody even yourself for awhile

So take your suffering and be done with you
I am sorry I can't come there with you
So pack your pain in a suitcase full of lies
I guess this is where we say goodbye

So take your suffering and be done with you
I am sorry I can't come there with you
So pack your pain in a suitcase full of lies
I guess this is where we say goodbye

I guess this is where we say goodbye

On behalf of my verified self, my one verified alt and my one unverified and gonna stay that way alt, I wish to express how much I will miss the wonderful show we call "general discussion."

You all have made me laugh, cry and fume in anger. Truely this has been 3 years of some of the best literary entertainment going complete with plot, subplots, good guys and bad and some darn good useful discussions at times.

Take care all.

Farewell to the Official Forums
Your resmod bounds posts
May your topics dry and dreary be
For when I am far away
on the briny forums tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh or a wish for me?

(to the tune of Farewell to Nova Scotia)

This isn't goodbye. Its just the closing of one chapter, and the beginning of a new one. :)

It's like the breakup of the Fellowship of the Ring. We're going in different directions. Some of you are taking the ring to Mount Doom. Some of you are going to hunt orcs.

Me, I'm calling out for pizza.

You know uh, I hate to like, harsh this smooth groove, but everyone -can- talk to eachother in world, you know?

I mean okay, I realize that this post is kind of like blowing an airhorn while a baptist church choir sings Amazing Grace, but the guy in the box you're lowering into the ground is like flailing his arms and yelling "What are you doing! I'm not dead! I feel fine!"

Maybe we should save this for like... the someday that's inevitably going to happen someday when SL actually shuts down...

Hopefully this is just a goodbye to this part of our interaction. As Michi says "we'll always have in-world," but I echo Cindy's sentiment. I've met a number of people in-world after "meeting" them here, and vice-versa, and can only hope that people will continue to help and debate each other through other forums and methods of communication yet unknown.

Now we just need that video clip of Stephen J Cannell pulling that last piece of paper from his typewriter...

Ok well, I don't disagree that it'll change the culture. It will. A lot of people did meet here first, came here to confer, referred eachother here to show their ideas and opinions, etc.

So in that sense, yeah, things are changing.

I guess I'm just kind of glad its "only" the forums. Nothing lasts forever, and someday it won't be only the forums.
