Has the purpose of Rausch been changed? Anyone understand this? _____________________

There are certain things you aren't allowed to do in Rausch, actually. For example, you're not allowed to leave scripted objects in the sim that automatically target other users if you're not present. Nor can you bring sim-crashers into play. Stuff like that.

It doesn't say what kind of assault. In fact, most weapons assaults specifically mention "weapons" in the blotter.
It could have been... say ... verbal, racist ... sexual? _____________________

It doesn't say what kind of assault. It could have been... say ... verbal, racist ... sexual? Description: Assault with scripted objects I would assume that means a TOS violation with said scripted objects. It's doubtful that a two-week sentence would be for harsh language. _____________________

There are certain things you aren't allowed to do in Rausch, actually. For example, you're not allowed to leave scripted objects in the sim that automatically target other users if you're not present. My guess is it's one of those. that makes sense... BUT where is this documented? not that i participate on this sort of behavior, but there are only 2 (ok 4) mainland sims that are OK to mess with people this is a 2 week ban which triggers "hearings" for a perma ban this MUST be documented (in an easy to locate manner) in order to be fair to the end user! the heart and "can be killed" explanation is the only explanation I have ever seen. I don't know who that was on the blotter but I do feel bad because I don't see that in the "Big 6" TOS or community standards _____________________

Well, I do know sim crashers (which I added in an edit, above) falls under this provision:
Disturbing the Peace Every Resident has a right to live their Second Life. Disrupting scheduled events, repeated transmission of undesired advertising content, the use of repetitive sounds, following or self-spawning items, or other objects that intentionally slow server performance or inhibit another Resident's ability to enjoy Second Life are examples of Disturbing the Peace. As for automatons in combat sims, I'm still looking. I could swear I saw that in web form somewhere. _____________________

I could swear I saw that in web form somewhere. ok, Sim crashers (especially in light of todays events) I understand, but if you have to actively hunt for rules burried in a necro thread about other possible bannable offences... something is wrong here with the way the information is presented, conveyed, and enforced yeah i know I hardly discovered america with this post, but this is the type of stuff that is tangible... that I can say LL, there is a disconnect here... you are breaking faith with your user base! no one knows what is going on and what is expected. clarity please! _____________________

Combat sims are an odd breed in Second Life. Ironically I think they could use a lot of love for several reasons. Clarification is one of them, though. _____________________

i was a witness to this issue it was another one of those dumb harassment penile items (another good word to use on the boards people) thats considered "assault with a scripted object" as well as sexual harassment which in TOS means that the person gets a 14-day suspension (one count in-appropriate conduct one count scripted assault)

Thanks for the explanation, Sharn. I figured it had to be something like that. "Damage enabled sim" does not mean "harrassment allowed sim". I thought it was failry plain that if someone were suspended for using scripted objects against people in Rausch, then clearly those objects were not guns or rocket launchers. The only plausible explanation is that the objects somehow violated the TOS and/or CS in some way that did not involve merely shooting people.
Next time, can we avoid the allegations that LL is somehow acting randomly without principle? _____________________
