Is this just me?

Well normally on SL I have very little lag on everything loads of pretty fast compared to most people. But recently since the new update it is really slow and takes about 15 minutes for a SIM to load the textures and the lag is pretty bad. This isnt just in a few places though this is everywhere I go. Last night I was a FurNation for and hour and the sign textures didn't load up all the way. So here is my question, Is this just me getting this lag all of a sudden or is this happening to other people? And if it is just me anyone know how I can fix this?

Infact its the main reason why i havent been online as much as i used to.
Creating things this way is hell.

Try setting your download limit or whatever its called in the network settings.Have it at least at 500. But be carefull if your ISP has a download limit

2.............How much memory do you have?
3.............What is the cpu speed
4.............WIFI or as the say Wireless.....

(Memory or Internal DDR memory The less you ave the more you will loaded up ( less lowering your setting will reduce it but then it can to reverse loaded you up even faster.)
Rule of thumb 1 giga is the standard 2 giga is better........

All these reflect the over al quility of game play. Yes setting can be turned down but more then not this are the factors why this problem occurs...............

(WIRELESS or WIFI Does cause in most cases "LAG" if there is any blockage or others stoppage of the connection to to the computer(s) this will lag you to death after awhile.

(LINE SPEED )I know people that have $7,000.00 system and lag to dealth at times. Because the have a weak line speed from the internet. ANd I know people with less then barebones system work even better.

(ALTS )Also how many others AVIES are you running at the same time? 1 2 3 4 5? Anytime you run more the on instances or avie your system ( SLOWS . There are "Money Chair and Fake newbies running around collecting money of money trees running 2 to 5 instances of clients and or avies ) this slows any system down alot not including causing a buildup of lag on your system.

One or all can causes a weakness in the game, I myselve have played this game with ( One Avie ) less then spec system but the only thing that kept me going was a strong line speed.

SECOND LIFE client setting has a place in this answer but ths above are more thel the likey the reason(s).

Hope this puts a little information in your bank of understanding how and what where and why does effect you in this way.

Or, it could be that the servers are actually lagging maybe? Increased lag is being reported by a great many people who did not experience this degree of slowness two weeks ago and who have not done anything to change the performance of the items you mentioned.

I am using screaming machines on a very fast network with great broadband, and last week I noticed a major change (for the worse) in lag and td that does not appear to be related to anything I've done. YMMV.

I have a top-of -the line high-speed cable connection that consistently tests at 18 Mbps. (That's 1 MB/Sec.)

I have 1 Gig of High Speed DDR Memeory

AMD 3800+ Dual-Core

Direct Connection/No Wireless

AND

The performance of the game for me sucks very bad since last weekend (wasn't too great before that either).

I am constantly plagued by huge rez times, general lag, gross rubberbanding, flying off of the world and having to relog after crosssing a SIM Line, freezing after TP requiring Re-Log, among other things.

It's Server SIde.

Well I seen your post on this issue countless times, but blaming LLabs is not going to make thing any more fruitful.


But i saying the true I played with "LESS then spec" computer system and I played well...... graphics were fuzzy etc. But i was stable. I crashed but that was due to the lack of DDR I had 386 not even 512 worth HEHHEHE.

When I upgraded to a faster home buildt computer i flied!

Why don`t you increase your DDR? 1 giga is ok ( I had(1 giga) and I had a little problem with stablity with my new system i upgraded to 3 giga ( sli mother board) and that poblem went away). Its worth a chance.........

No consumer game/platform/software should require 2+ Gigs to be playable. If it does it has a flawed design unsuitable to its market. IMHO

15 minutes?!!!!! The heck?!

I've never been anywhere where it took over a minute for the textures to reach 90%+ loaded. This applies to everywhere I go in the continental areas and a few private sims.

Got a relatively slow DSL connection and 1GB RAM ... and I live halfway around the world from LL.

I suggest you do a traceroute just to eliminate the possibility of choking along the datapath.

Does LLabs say this? Why i was saying is LLAbs provides the service and its up to use to eith get up to standards or figure out what the problem is........

TOS does no promise that the game wil be usable if specs are even met. ( since all users computers ar fiffernt ( this is a no brainer as they say remark).

Frankly speaking I am running very very stable these days. I am on a 100m fiber line with only a 3200 AMD(BASIC NO AM2 VERSION with 3 giga DDR. ( I am upgrading to a 4400x2 dual core when i can get aroun to install in in a ay or two....)

I was on a private sim with another person last night, it was his sim, and he had this problem a lot - sent me a picture of the terrain never showing up. But I didn't have it at all, even though my computer is really not very good, and I saw all the textures right away.

He said it was some kind of a bug (and he is very knowledgable about things SL), and what he did to fix it was log off and back on again, I think he said.

This has always been the case people reporting but then again we did nt have people playing 3 or more Avies inthe game are the same time Money chair sitting and or money tree pickers all running around. Of course you lag to death running avies in money chairs etc......heance MAYBE the reasonthe increase of people reporting "lag that they never experienced"

I had a very stagne happening the otehr day. very much like your "sent me a picture of the terrain never showing up." I was in a greenblue backgound with "NO terrain " But i at times saw a person pop in my viwer at times. I had music and was salsa dancing with my friend at the same time........I i had music. i had text etc. but NO terrain...........I fiiled a bug report I hope they look into it.........

I laugh at the rediculous requirements for Windows SL.
