My long-time sub can't get in. He's in Germany! He never /GOT/ the goddamned question in the mail. THANKS!

We asked people to wait until Monday because we wanted to put something in place which was a more secure way to validate accounts than the security question, which had possibly been compromised. Our web team is working right now on completing a web-based way for SL Residents to validate their accounts and reset their passwords on their own, this weekend. I hope to be able to announce it later this evening.

We have increased the phone staff significantly for Monday, so those who would prefer to speak with someone directly to reset their password, will be able to do so.

They're working on it. Has your friend in Germany checked their spam filters?

The way I see it is they did the right thing in having everyone change their password. yes it causes some inconviences right now, but think of the ones that are being avoided in the long run. They could have not told anyone this happened and let everyone go on with their passwords as is and hope that nothing would happen but they didnt. People need to remember that and take a step back, enjoy the weekend if they cant get logged in. Yeah some progjects may get delayed, but everyone who plays second life knows what is going on, people will understand, firing question after question and yelling at people wont get things done any faster.

hmm.. if your using Gmail nimrod.. the SL emails have a strange habit of going straight into archive.. the only way I can read my offlines and SL related mails is by searching "secondlife" with it
