any one know for sure?

If this is the case, one would wonder how fun it would be to get on my alt and go hunting

The current abuse report system is a failure. i lost 1 friend and almost lost another due to massive abuse reports from griefers. I myself have received 2 warnings during my entire SL so i have no chance at ever becomming a mentor. The first warning was cuz i played a gesture a year ago, but it turns out that person who ARed me was banned a month later...

The Second time was a couple weeks ago when something was mysteriusly wrong wityh my profile and they never told me what. :/ So someone probably ARed me and had to make up some reason. So it's quite true that all ARs go into the system, but they mostly just end up with warnings. I know LL just overhauled the Abuse Report system but it's still griefable. I don't think there is a way to fix that though except remove it, then were all defenceless...

Better watch out, Big Brother will lock this thread because we're talking about actions that would break the TOS, thats thought crime folks. Big Brother doesn't like people talking about the odds of being able to get away with breaking the TOS, even if you haven't actually *done* it.

The RESMOD that acted in that manner over that particular thread is a good sign that the program never worked, unfortunately when u give some people some percieved power it just goes to their heads thats the biggest shame about here in SL ;)

Peace

Remember Citizens, Smile! The Computer is your Friend! :D The Computer knows what's best for you. You must always do as The Computer tells you. To do otherwise would make you a Communist mutant traitor and terminatable on sight. The Computer says so. But doing as The Computer tells you will be fun. The Computer says so, and The Computer is your friend. :D If you have any questions, Citizens, please prepare yourself for termination. Questions are Treasonous. Now please enter the second door to your right, as The Computer has prepared a special surprise for you, a frontal lobotomy. Remember Citizens, Smile! The Computer is your Friend! :D

If the computer is sooo smart, why do I have to program it to tell me what to do?

From: someone
x^2/a -y^2/b = 1.

Error, does not compute.

You can be killed at any time or for any reason, the best strategy is to work as a group.

Anyone that is in the public view such as a club owner or business owner probably gets a lot of AR's.

I wonder how many AR's torley gets?

So far I personally have filled only one AR. And I think LL needs to weigh the AR based on both quantity, quality and how long the accounts have been in SL and what there contributions to SL are.

"Program", Citizen Gru-M-Ble? You do not have the required Clearance Level to possess information on "Program" Citizen Gru-M-Ble. Possession of information that you don't have the required Access Level to possess is a Treasonous offense. Prepare for termination. Have a Nice Day! :D

The Computer is happy. The Computer is crazy. The Computer will help you become happy. This will drive you crazy. Being a citizen of Second Life is fun. The Computer says so, and The Computer is your friend. :D Many traitors threaten Second Life. :( Many happy citizens live in Second Life. Most happy citizens are crazy. Which are more dangerous—traitors or happy citizens?

Rooting out traitors will make you happy. :D The Computer tells you so. If you are not happy, The Computer will use you as reactor shielding. Being a Linden is fun. The Computer tells you so. Do you doubt The Computer, citizen? Lindens get shot at, stabbed, mangled, incinerated, poisoned, stapled, blown to bits and accidentally executed. This is so much fun many Lindens go crazy. You work with many Lindens. They all carry lasers. Aren’t you glad you have a laser too? Won’t this be fun?

To Mulch's original question, in a way it makes sense. Even LL would have to dig to find out of an unverified account was or was not an alt of someone's (thus using the ARs to grief). If they're all about being most efficient and following the "Tao of Linden" (aka "we're gonna do whatever we want anyway";), you could eliminate a huge pile of your work load by just trashing the unverified ARs.

I'm reluctant to accept this, however, because if it is found to be true it would destroy the last shred of credibility left to Abuse Reporting. And there isn't much left.

I agree with this, although I'd go it a step further with, "The 'Tao of Linden' means that all ARs are trashed, since we don't feel like dealing with them at all today." *shrugs* ARs do nothing to solve a situation, anyways. You're still left dealing with the jerk until you either leave the area, orbit them, or freeze/eject/ban them. ARs are like crap shoots, you're left crossing your fingers, hoping the idiot gets punished.

*shrugs* I can't see any better way of handling this that doesn't greatly restrict a player's freedoms. Except, perhaps, allowing us to completely ignore - as in nothing by the idiot, including the idiot, rezzes or interacts with us or our land. Now that would solve a lot. Hit mute and the idiot no longer exists in your little world. I like that.

That would be way too simple. It would finally emasculate griefing and prevent another big chunk of the current ARs that are filed. As it is, not only can griefers hover outside a parcel that's banned them and spam their crap inside it, there are ways around the anti-push restrictions as well.

But who are we kidding? We have permanent bugs that may never be fixed - lately it's the inconsistent Friends' list and the atrocious asset server performance. But those aren't the first, nor the last. The bugs mount and the Lindens don't act.

As usual, the Tao gives us half measures. Possibly because they just aren't interested in going all the way with a solution when there is so much back-slapping to do.

*sets the alarm clock* Well, they're about to get a wake up call if they want the game to replace the internet. If an individual can't deal with another who is a griefer and have to wait for an admin or Linden or something to do something, the game will never come to this.

I'd never use it as a replacement for a webbrowser, for instance, if I can't ignore that which annoys me. *huggles her adblocker* And 'sponsors' aren't going to like having griefers in their lots chasing people away. That's a lost of revenue.

Nope, as it stands, SL will not become the Metaverse.
