when i click my IM box.. there's no names there.. and usually it showed the online and offline users... is this part of the update.???

Yes, if your connection or computer are being a bit slow, the client will delay downloading your clothing (av image), contact list, map images and a couple of other things I can't think of off the top of my head. They show up normally after a minute or two.
