Wasn't it obvious this was going to happen?
Why is it some people saw this coming and yet it still became part of the update?

Left-Click pay does not add any new possibilities for this sort of behavior that didn't exist with Right-Click -> Pay.

Am I wrong? Is there some reason Right-Click -> Pay is safer from this than Left-Click default pay?

What the real bug is, is that the Pay window doesn't list Who and What you are paying, I think. And it should. I'll make sure that gets added to The List.

Ah so thats what the fuss is all about. :p
I thought it was instant pay or something by just clicking an object. Instead of asking first.
Couldn't find anyone saying it's one way or another.

All the new feature does is allow content creators to make a pie menu option the default left click operation. All the behavior that used to happen if you chose the option from the pie menu still happens, however now the person interacting with the object doesn't have to search a pie menu from a right click. They can just click.

Useless feature IMHO, doesn't the dev team have more important things to do?

I like the idea of this. Not sure what all the contributing factors are for why, but I am concerned about clicks. Saving one click in a 2-click transaction seems like a win to me.

The left-click defaults are an ease of use feature - it is far more intuitive to left click on a chair to sit on it, than to right click on everything and click on an ever changing pie menu option, depending on the context. It is especially useful in combination with the new functionality that has been added to the Open option - clicking on a box will open the contents, and you are now able to click Copy to Inventory to copy the contents into a folder automatically, instead of having to fumble with creating a folder then dragging everything into it. This new feature gives a visual indicator to let the user know before they click what will happen. Things that make SL easier to use are certainly not useless.

Now I see. I like it.
So I guess what some are worried about is the fact it became easy to buy or do things, which makes any trap or misleading object even more of a problem when we don't pay attention to what we click on.

I suppose sitting faster is one nice thing about this. Makes sense to me. And if the chair brings up a "Pay" box then um.. yeah.
As long as it asks first.
:D

Of course I did buy a L$2000 movie when I was checking the price. And tried to type to a friend of mine. Apparently the Enter key is also PAY.
I wish that would change. If it hasn't already. :p

Why useless? I find it a really great improvement. Simple to do, but very convenient. For example, now finally we can have teleporters and elevators that just work without having to sit on them. Probably removes a good deal of confusion for newbies too.
