I'm thinking about taking on more land with a view to rent parts of it out to help with costs etc few questions...

If you own for example 1/4 land.

You rent out half that land to someone, they pay you the rent and you carry on paying the tier fee for the entire plot. If you were to leave SL then the person renting the land from you would be left with nothing? Or do you add them as an owner? Or can you split the land up and assign that owner who pays the tier fee of there own?

Which is the best way to go about it?

How popular is the rental market, a lot of regions I go to are full of for sale/to let signs and little life about, with so many possible places to choose from it must be a tuff market to be in? or you need to have such a well designed region that people cant say no to ?

Thanks for anyones help! :-)

Yes.

You can deed the land to a group. However, the group will then have a certain amount of tier which must be contributed by one or more members. If you are the only person contributing tier in the group, then if you leave SL, the tier contribution is gone from the group and thus the land gets forcibly removed.

The other person can buy Premium and then contribute tier to the group. Or you can sell them the land outright.

Hiya Cosmic.

How popular is the rental market?

it all depends on what you have to offer and what price you charge.

I rent out a parcel of waterfront land, I use a freebie rental box I was given to handle the rent paying, My tenant pays the box every week and if she misses payment it IM's her and then me.

Do you add the tentant as owner?

I added my tenant to a group as a member, If you add another as an officer and then deed that land, That tenant has the same rights as you do with the land, They can sell it straight from underneath you.

Have a good day

Nat :)
