As part of the Royal British Legion's annual poppy appeal, I've set aside a remembrance field in Grindlewald (128,2 . There's a platform ready for people to leave small items to represent loved ones in the forces (serving or otherwise). Please treat this field with respect. It will be used for a memorial gathering on November 11th.

Thank you for the lovely field of poppies, Ingrid. If anyone's wondering whether an item of theirs is suitable just IM me and I'll take a look to put your mind at rest.

Thank you Garnet. I figure it was about time someone did something like that.
Don't mean to sound like a preachy sentimental nut, but I get kinda passionate about Rememberance Day. I never really felt the significance of it until I visited a Holocaust Museum in Toronto, I talked with a survivor who still bore the tattoos on her arm. I saw tears in her eyes as she recalled her experience in Auschwitz, of her friends and family that were lost in Hitler's Final Solution. I'll never forget that, and I'll never forget that freedom isn't free. Men and women sacrificed their lives to give us freedom, and I'm forever grateful for that.
*sagely nods*
