Simple question.....
How would you feel if you donated land to a project in SL and they then sold the land?
After being annoyed and griefed by a neighbor, she now owns the land I donated to a worthwhile project in SL. Now I'm banned on THREE sides of my land...oh joy!
It may not sound like much but it is now the straw that broke THIS camels back.
Some things suck all the fun out of life AND SL *sigh*

I would be pissed. A while back, I donated a tiny piece if land someone wanted to integrate into a public sandbox they'd made. When they decided to lower their tier, they set it back to sale to me for L$0 and IMed me to tell me they'd done so, even though I hadn't asked them to do so. Damn decent behaviour. They should have offered it back to you first, especially since it's next to you. My gods, that is crap.

This sucks on so many levels. But it mostly sucks because there is nothing you can do.

I knew someone who donated his land to a group to be used to raise the prim allowance. When the group moved the officer sold all the land including my friends..... and he was still living on it at the time! You can bet he never saw a dime of that money either.
Most of the time people are decent but occasionally when you get screwed unfortunately there's rarely anything you can do about it.
I learned from my friend's experience and now everything gets put in writing. Someone can still screw you but at least they can't claim it wasn't intentional.

Yeah, very sucky situation...
.. but people should remember to copy and save any big agreements. If you have a written conversation of an agreement... that's a contract.

I have a friend who, in REAL LIFE, donated a house to an arts organisation so it could be sold at market value to support worthwhile programs for artists. Instead the arts organisation sold it cheaply to one of their own (in the very small organisation). She was annoyed, to say the least.
