W00t, I went, i saw, i conquered! It was great! I just wanted to thank LL for the opportunity to have something like that in europe.. was a good deal! Wilder gave live demo's and i really think secondlife stole the show, i bet if all the other booths picked up their shit and left no one would have even noticed.. was standing room infront of the secondlife table with the live demo being projected on the wall. It was really need to hear some of the questions people that have never seen secondlife asked and what aspects interested them about it. Wilder is a new linden if yall dont know her.. she is great! really personable too.. she did a really good job, she answered question after question and showed alot of things in secondlife hell, after hearing her go through the demo it made me want to buy another account lol :\ as far as us residents go.. It was a blast! there were a handfull of us, i think me and wilder were the only americans there asfar as the resident's went. Which was really cool because it kind of gave me an insight on their culture and how that affects their life in secondlife.. which was a real treat. Met some really really brilliant people, we discussed alot of things, and it was also neat to see the transition from SL to RL, especially on discussing things we all had our own unique views on..and trust me.. its not like the forums were you have to be as juvenile as possible and immature and throw a fit and aruge to get your point across, so that was really cool hearing their points of views and what they like and dont like! I will admit i was a little nervous about the whole thing, i mean i was thinking things like, what if someone is there that i pissed off in the forums? someone i have aruged with? how will they take it? just because they dont like my point of view's that i post will they snub me for it? So before I went to the conferance i decided to get what i call liquid courage, some of you call it jack daniels So after a few shots i was good to go ready to take on the world.. and then when i got there i was shocked.. everyone was nice everyone was very pleasant to be around and it was kind of scary.. we talked like we were long time buddys lol. Even some of the people i have disagreed with in the past was there.. and we had some of the best discussions iv ever had. In short, i would do it over again.. was one of the best times iv had in a long time and even though it was only one day i dont think its something ill forget. Complaints- I do have a complaint..shwag.. there was some secondlife shwag.. they had mini disc with sl on them in a neat little plastic sleeve and stickers.. anyone could walk up to the table and take these (even though i didnt get one partly because i didnt want to push through the crowd to get to the front of the table..the secondlife area was PACKED!). For the residents.. they had 3 t-shirts.. well there were more than 3 residents and i guess because im ugly i didnt get one.. actually its because there were more than 3 residents there and i was towards the back of the display but thats ok im sure LL will make it up to me and the other residents that didnt get anything *cough* LOL

Thanks Billy. I was there, and it was as Billy described. Pretty cool to meet people, it does give a extra dimension to SL. I was a bit silent, but it always takes me a while to open up to people i just meet. So i bet we will have more fun next time. And Billy is right about the stand being packed, i wanted to say hi to Wilder, buts she was so into the presentation and showing people the cool stuff. That it probably was a hour after the start that things had slowed down a bit, and we could say hi. lol, come to think of it. The event was supposed to be till, 21:30. I think i left at 22:30. I hope to see more people next time.

Fantastic! I'm glad it went so well.
We'll be ordering up more SLCC shirts soon, so if you want one, be sure to send me a forum private message (no access to SL for a little bit) with your size and we'll work out payment.
Thanks,
-Flip

Thanks for the great write up Billy and thank you everyone who attended! I apologize for not having enough T-shirts for everyone - I brought them over in my carry on and took a guess at how many might show up. If you were one of the three (including you Billy!) who did not get a t-shirt please send me an IM in world and I'll make sure to send one out!! It was indeed awesome to see everyone and make new Second Life friends, and I am sorry that I was unable to spend as much time with the residents as I would have liked. It definitely was a packed room and it was exciting to see so many people excited about Second Life! I also want to apologize for the short notice! It was truly short notice for Linden as well since I was scheduled to be at the Maker Faire before I was hired!! Huge *hugs* to all of you for coming and for also sharing your experiences as it was far more interesting to hear your stories than mine! Cheers! - Wilder Linden PS_as soon as I have the pictures online I will post a link!

No need to apologize wilder, It was great.. I really enjoyed eavesdropping on what the people that were just being introduced into secondlife was discussing, i think i can learn alot from listening to them what they like, what the want to see etc Good for marketing aswell! Well Wilder I would graciously accept a T-shirt but I have thought and thought about it and I feel like i should get something better for not getting one right then. When I make my pilgrimage to Linden Lab I expect to have a brand new computer with the LL logo cutout on the side. Fair is fair... All jokes aside no need to try to do make ups! was great that you even thought to bring any shirts to begin with, and honestly if i did get one i would have given it to one of the other residents that didnt.. after all.. i already have 2 secondlife t-shirts and leather bound journal with the LL logo sewn into it, oh and with all the lindens signatures so i guess i cant be greedy.. Anyway thanks for such a good time! You did great!
