Bop around at Yadnis a bit, try on a few avs, skins, etc. Get a bunch of the boxes and have fun. :) Making money is something that varies based on person..

I recommend buying cash on the exchange when you're new -- assuming you feel you absolutely need cash. You can do plenty without it, too.

Try "yadni."

Jonas doesn't like his punctuation very much.

Search for either YadNi or junkyard in the "places" tab. That'll get you what you're looking for.

For some quick L$ for giving all this a try look for "money tree". For folks under 60 days old (I think...) money really does grow on trees. ;)

Make sure you are searching for "Places". Check the tabs at the top.

Try finding the Shelter. They have freebies and will help you out. Also do a find on New Citizens Plaza, they also have freebies, classes and mentors.

Yes, the Shelter is excellent!

I always reccomend that folks visit the Ivory Tower Library of Primitives, it's a great introduction to the SL interface and you'll be able to see if you like building at the same time! There are classes listed under Events, for just about everything one can do in SL (which is just about everything).

Don't be afraid to walk up to folks and talk to them, look at the map for clusters of green dots, and head over there and look around! :)

The welcome area in Ahern often has folks hanging about willing to help out with tips and even some stuff!

If you search for keywords in Places, you might fight stores or venues attuned to your interests.

Don't forget, we ALL were new once, no matter what anyone might say! :p

The freebies at Shelter and YadNi's are excellent, you can get tons of stuff there-- everything from clothes and wings to vehicles and weapons.

If you absolutely must have more cash right away, I agree, buying some via the Lindex exchange is the easiest... Linden Dollars are pretty cheap, and it's much better than sitting around in camping chairs for hours. (You can buy Lindens via the website, or by clicking the little $ icon at the top of the screen in game.)

If you aren't sure yet what sort of character look you want, you can do quite a lot just by poking through freebie boxes of clothes and attachments, and by playing with the sliders under 'appearance'-- you can change hair color and style, body shape, facial features, etc. and get a lot of different looks, from realistic to downright freaky.

Welcome, good luck, and have fun!
