Well, what with all the aggravation from the griefers combined with SL trying to get the new version up, I actually downloaded the preview grid to see what that was all about.

Looked just like the regular SL! Except the tool bar on top was red.

At first, I thought I was in the twilight zone! When I got on last night, there was only one Sim up, and about three green dots in it, two of which were not responsive. Finally I found a guy who confirmed that yes, it was the preview grid, but usually there were more Sims up.

Then I discovered I had MONEY there!!!

Why didn't anyone tell me I had money there?

And I could upload textures! WHEEEEEEE!!!

And I noticed I could see when people finally began to log onto the regular grid. I could see them in my bookmarks of friends!

Questions:

Is the preview grid just like the regular grid? I mean, had the regular grid been up, would I have been messing around with it along with everybody on the regular grid, sort of like two universes coexisting simultaneously?

It looked just like regular SL. Does it get wiped with each new preview version? I still don't know if I was in a parallel universe or not.

What do people do with their money? Do you buy land? Is this land in a separate universe?

Anyway, it was lots of fun discovering I had money and uploading textures!

Sure you have money. You can use it for whatever you want in the preview grid and it won't affect your regular grid balance. But it will all go away when they shut down the preview grid.

Yeah, but it was cool to go to a store and buy and try on clothes/hair/shoes, etc and see how they looked on my avi :) I searched for a skin store on the four sims that were open, hoping to try out a $5k skin or something, but anyway, I had a blast virtually, virtually shopping and now know what will look good on my avi and what won't, haha. Ok, airhead thing to say, even I admit it, but it sucks to pay $200 for an outfit or $300 for hair that looks terrible when u get it on ;) Saved myself some Lindens in the "real" world, haha!

Same thing with figuring out which textures look good and which don't!
