I've seen many threads here with people writing about incidents that have happened to either them or people they know where they were treated badly by others in power here in sl. And this is just another of these stories.
My friends girl friend who hasn't been here but two months rented land by this guy who rents and sells land.
Now, she's very attractive and in her profile she, like most people has thngs about her and her man so soon as you check it out you know she's taken.
During the first few days, she noticed the guy constantly coming around her place with offers of buying her things and always telling her how great she looked. Then on the fifth day he brazenly tells her he wants to do her. Naturally she rejects him and tells him he had no right to talk to her this way.
So soon after, he starts complaining to her about her house which is a two story house of being too tall. Before this, everything was fine but now he begins to find faults with everything. She can now see whats going on and tells him she's leaving the land and for a refund for the time she still has left.
He agrees and tells her to empty the land and she'll get her refund.
Soon after the land was emptied, she gets an IM from the guys fiancee accusing my friend of having hit on her man. And on top of this she was told she would get no refund even though she hand over three and a half weeks left. This creep went and told his fiancee he was being hit on.
She was then expelled from the land as she was taken off the lands group. Now she finds herself without the land she paid for, with losing her money which rightfully she was owed and with having been taken advantage of by some sleazy guy who probably goes around doing this same thing to other women.
Shame on you Marcas Xavier.

To the OP, this isn't just sleezy tactics, it's sexual harrasment. Because SL has logs (which can't be refuted if they are on the server), I would have personally lodged a complaint with SL. Saying that, I have no idea if SL has any form of dispute resolution service or not (would it come under griefing?).
An idea, for if anything like this happens again, take a snapshot with the GUI on, or if that doesn't show text, take a screenshot and upload as a texture. Even if it doesn't get your money back, it gives something to show accusing partners after the event |
