Take from another forum thread.... From: someone Whats up Linden. Why is the removal of obstructions from your protected waterways apparently a low priority in your eyes. Maby you see the pleasure boaters of your world as a less important meal ticket. I would suggest you put at least a littel time into this problem. Group discussion on the possibilty of giving Live Helpers a bit more trust and in the same light making the world a better place. I'm speaking about giving them admin rights to clear the Governor's Land of debris found from below ground level to the highest in elevation levels. If not Live Helpers, a group of trusted, interviewed, trash collectors that have the ability to do this. A group that has the time to address many of the "clean up on aisle 7" reports we read over and over again. Many that are answered with the Linden response, we are looking into it. Go back to that spot a week, 2 weeks later, and the trash is still there. Any of you trusted souls out there willing to put in the time to clean up the SL World if given the ability?

Live Help might not be the right group for this. The channel would be overwhelmed with requests for clean up in aisle 4. Volunteer cleaner uppers might be an idea though.

Actually my last request was for Aisle 7. I do however agree that LL should investigate in the possibility of somehow giving a volunteer group the ability to do litter patrol. Even if that means they're limited to setting autoreturn and returning lost objects from Governor Linden land. At the very least it'll reduce the amount of work by the Lindens themselves to handle this, and provides a way for others (like myself) who'd like to contribute to the community in a meaningful way. - Newfie

excellent idea! seconded! Create a cleanup group with the capability to cleanup junk only on protected land. Why hasn't it been done before? Put my name on the list.

I'd be happy to do it too. Sometimes I daydream about being a road-builder for the Grid - I think there are a few areas that volunteers would be a big help in.

My understanding is to return items need to be an officer if the group I can see why people would want to volunteer to work for free to be able to sell sims for $1 to their buddies if nothing else - extreme example but the point is still valid, nobody has ever tried to buy sims for $1 right - everyone in SL is ethical
and I'm not dripping sarcasm honest I'm not

I'll volunteer for trash removal duty on the Governor's land after the new group tools come out. They'll be able then to assign us deletion rights without having to grant us the ability to terraform or sell the land.

Hahaha, I'm sure "boaters" are very high on the list of policy priorities.

Same reason that people do Greeter, Live Help and Mentoring. Because they enjoy giving something back to the benefit of the community, and aren't just thinking of themselves and the profit they can make. Too many Ferengi in this game - and it's not even Star Trek related. Lewis

OO!!!OOOOOO!!!!!! *raises hand and stands on chair waving furriously!!** I'd be delighted to help fix road prims and align the textures of same!!! Would also be happy to help clean up trash in LL areas as time permits. And no, I don't want paid. Helping like this makes our world better, if even jsut that little bit ^.^ ~Jessy *stamp of approval goes here*

Yes, I wouldn't mind doing this. So long, that is, as I could have a French Maid's uniform, with a feather duster and fishnet tights. Oh, all right - no uniform. But I would be happy to do the work.

Answer: because I live here and it would make the Grid better, and because all current volunteer functions require one to be social, which I'm not. .

From: Enabran Templar Hahaha, I'm sure "boaters" are very high on the list of policy priorities. "Enjoyment" and "fun" and "being able to do the things one loves" are probably recognised by LL as being important. It's why we are here, after all.
