So I have a mammoth. He can be ridden. Only thing is, he keeps crashing into buildings. I mean this guy is frigging HUGE.
So here's my question folks -- If you had a mammoth, AND you liked to explore AND you wanted to go riding around, where would you take it?
Right now the only place I can think of is the oceans because I think he is taller than the oceans are deep, for the most part. Got any other pointers for me?

The snow sims might be rather apt for a mammoth, lest he overheat.

I spotted 20 virgin Sims to the very north of the map this morning. Get him over there before they're all built up!

From: Vivianne Draper Void Sims? Wherefore art these void sims? I'm not sure of their exact location.. I think they're Centre, West-ish of the mainland, and they're called void 1, void 2 etc..

Get in touch with your local island owner and ask if they could temporarily make thier island into a giant antartic iceland. Althoguht this may require persistant bugging or lots of money.

I have a mammoth and I ride her right down the center of the road. People fly over and think I'm a bit strange (and the truth is they are right ) but it's fun. You may want to build extra seats onto your mammoth. Strangers seem to hop on mine and try to ride with me. -Sun

Vivianne, the Rizal Sports sim has a few buildings on it but it also has a lot of wipe open, grassy plains. And, riding a mammoth seems very sports like to me.

Thank you all for your useful and entertaining replies! Unusual modes of transportation for teh win!
I took my mammoth to the northern continent and up to the unused sims. Mammoths are sloooow. Somehow I thought he would be faster. The problem with being up there is that it gets real lonely real fast and besides, I can't show off my mammoth. So I may try the road next.
On a side note, I went and saw the great wall. I have GOT to try a motorcycle on that thing but you can't rez anywhere near it so I'd have to ride the bike there. However it is way way cool. The wall -- not the motorcycle. Well the motorcycle may also be cool but its probably not as cool as the mammoth.
