So I just joined today. Visited Isle of Wyrms and in teh middle of a ocnversation I stopped being able to talk. I can't move and allmy objects have gone.
Anyone able to help?

Anyone able to help? Weird, try going to the preferences in the login window, and set login location to you home, also try clearing your cache in the preferences window somewhere.

Hmmm looks to be connection issues.
I rebooted my PC and was looking good (I did reset my home location) then I went to a nother new area and same thing. I think it might be more to do with my LAN (im wireless) and thus los sof connectivity.
Im guessing that Second World caches alot of info on my system thats why I coudl look araound but not move, as movement is dynamic and would need a connection to the SL servers.
Thats my hypothesis... any comments?

I have noticed that whenever they are working on a new update I tend to get the partial disconnects more often. Myself and my friends have been having probs for about a week now. My advice is to just wait it out, it will probably go away soon.

Sometimes when you lose connection that's exactly what happens. You can still spin around, but you can't walk, can't retrieve anything from your inventory, and can't speak or send IMs.
That's the nature of UDP, really -- sometimes if conversations go quiet i'll try to move back and forth a bit to see if i'm actually connected.

I've even been able to build for 15 minutes after one of these type disconnects before i realized i'd not moved my avatar and all the mini-map was redded-out (my own personal clue that something's weird). Of course, when I logged back on, all that 15 minutes of building was not there, cause I was never really connected during that time -- I think it was all copy drag stuff, rather than trying to create new prims.
Weird stuff.

one thing to try that works for me is to sit on something, anything. More often than not when I stand up I can walk again.
