Like many clubs we have several groups. Security, Vendors, VIP’s, ect… With the new group system we can combine all those into one group and give our security the power to return objects.
The problem comes into how to actually do it. Option 1: Merging land and objects into VIP group. The Vip group has the most members so it would make sense to merge everyone into that group, however the land is cut up into pieces and trying to transfer the land piece by piece will cause pieces of land to go over their prim budget. I cannot merge the land since the “extra Prim” land is not adjacent. My only option is to pick up the high prim items and then do the transfer. Then there is the whole issue of going around and setting the new objects to the new group since they are only “set to group” and not deeded.
Option 2: Trying to invite the 100’s of VIP members into the new group. Currently I do not see any way to cut and paste their names to invite them to the new group. And then there is the whole issue of how many people will accept the invite. I would have to first eject them from the old group in order to ensure they have space in their profile for the new group since multiple clubs may be doing this at the same time.
In the end this will lead to less groups and a more manageable club, the question is how to convert over to it.

In the case of My club, I merged all the staff groups into the land holders group, and kept the VIP group separate still. By keeping the VIPs separate, they are still able to get group notices and IMs for events, and they don't hear the group IMs and notices that are meant for staff only.
It's still 2 groups, but better than the 5 we had before

In the end this will lead to less groups and a more manageable club, the question is how to convert over to it. This may help you a bit: You can combine parcels into a single parcel even if they are not connected in any fashion (must be in the same sim of course, if they're not the prim counts aren't helping you anyway.) Just select across any land that's not yours so that all your land is in the selection box somehow and hit Join, it should just merge all your parcels together. I've done this before with land on two sides of a Linden road.

Thanks for the sugestions. I like the idea of keeping the VIP list seperate and that also meens I don't have to transfer the land.
Thanks for the info on the join parcel. I hadn't tried that since my client normaly isn't set to see that far. (It's on the other side of the same sim)
