How do I love thee, P2P? Let me count the ways!

1. Look at the map - see a spot that looks interesting - click on it - and poof! You're there!

The first place I went to no one was really there. The second place, though, there was long lost Cat Black! I knew her from when we used to live in Meins together!

2. Guess what! For a person at 64 draw distance who has a tough enough time getting around and seeing where I'm going when I travel around, this is an instant painless way to explore!

3. PAINLESS, I tell ya!

4. No more having to just sit in my own little places, or attend events. Now I feel liberated! WATCH OUT y'all on the boards here, this is going to (I hope and predict) change the face of SL! No more "Snooty Life!" (Except maybe here on the forums, lol.) Now people are gonna be able to go where they want, when they want, without the limitation of hub-and-then-what? lol

People are going to get used to the fact that there will probably be MUCH more movement within the game. Just from what random P2P'ing I have done so far, I am realizing there are HUGE amounts of things going on I'm never really aware of! And huge numbers of people I haven't met! This is great for me, because I'm really quite the outgoing and friendly sort of AV!

5. Looking for land to buy? WOWSIES! This makes it SO simple to just pop from place to place! And I haven't even TRIED getting places via classifeds yet! (Or from Find; I assume it works there, too?)

Disclaimer: I still say this screwed telehub land owners. They should have gotten SOME dang compensation! Really. Maybe they can still make something out of their "infohub" thingies; I believe Robin said they could. (Not that will help much.)

But in any case, P2P is FABULOUS! For this AV, anyway! :D

Yep...... just like in TSO :) straight to where you want to go without having to put up with navigating crap builds round telehubs that rez as you fly through them and bang into a wall.

Just need some better way of categorising and searching properties without relying on keywords and we're sorted.

BETTER than TSO! Once you got there in TSO, you were enclosed! This way, you can get there and THEN start walking or flying around!

Using this, and with the map up, I'm able to see much more of SL!

Am I the only one that thinks slices are overrated? I just like a big loaf I can tear pieces off indiscriminately.

Forgot to say - some of the people I basically "dropped in on" didn't know what P2P was yet!

Sliced and unsliced each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Which is best depends not only on personal choice but also the purpose being served. When preparing sandwiches for a crowd in a hurry sliced might be best, for warming up and puttting some butter on, unsliced probably wins out.

I'm still waiting for the new version to download, but based on the preview I will like having the p2p option.
