Maybe I'm using the wrong words, but what I mean is, does it happen in SL that anyone who is trying to make an extra L$ teams up with an established successfull entrepeneur, for instance when a scripter who doesn't succeed on his own or doesn't want to have his own business, teams up with, say a builder, and split the profits ?

Just wondering

Luskwood:

Arito Cotton: Scripting, 'inventions', avatar creation, texture, thematic building.
(Arito invented the 'furry prim av' on SL in 1.0)
Liam Roark: Avatar creation (in a big way), scripting
Eltee Statosky: Scripting, particles, business management
Michi Lumin: Public relations, building, av modifications, av creation.

We also all share in land/sales/event/planning decisions.

We've been doing that since 2003. It seems to have worked.

It does happen pretty frequently. You need folks you can trust, obviously, but talents are so variious here that it's often very helpful to get help on your products.

We're like the Fantastic Four. Only... less fantastic. Oh, and without the cool logos on our chests.

I do believe it happens a lot though. Here's a couple more recent examples:

yeah trust is the big one and determining the ground rules for the partnership up front -- BOTH in how you do business together, and how you will handle things should one of you decide to pull out.

always try to prepare for things going wrong with the partnership as best you can, even with trusted people

There is no real legal recourse if you keep things within SL, but then there isn't always much you can do with a partnership that falls apart disastrously in RL either. But no question -- in SL, be aware that things change a lot (including people's motivations and budgets), and choose your partners carefully.

What, I scream at people and hit the eject button. If that isn't PR then what is.
