I am a newbie here in sl, and I am hooked. If this is a dumb question I will apologize in advance. I was just wondering if eating effects the avitars performance, and is there a health level aspect that effects our avatars, or are they indestructable? Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a health level that can be affected adversely, but only in areas where you see a small heart with a percentile at the top of your screen. You can see it if you go to Rausch or Jessie (or anywhere land owners have turned on health).

Food does not improve your health. If you are adversely affected to the point where death is the effect, you will respawn at your home location.

Happy hunting.

Damn, Gus, for a first post, that's a really thot-provoking question. This should be in General, BTW... it's not off-topic at all.

There once was a game I lurved to play, called Dungeon Master. Classic piece of software on the Amiga, trawling through the stony underground. Of course, there were food and drink necessities. I had to continually kill these giant worms and load the worm rounds into my backpack to eat later. I only had so much inventory space so I had to balance it out with the rest of my material possessions.

Gosh, I'd like to have an experience like that in SL.

I've seen some Resident-created damage mechanisms but they're limited in framework because of the system. Now, if the general combat system could be expanded to be more modular, flexible, and fun, that'd be HAWT! Lose hit points for drinking poison too.

P.S. -- Don't go shooting people in areas where health is NOT turned on. It will cause a whine fest, resulting in a tidal wave of tears that will wash you into the hands of apathetic Linden drones whose existence revolves around issuing suspensions and bans. :)

I left a game called Dransik because they made it so you had to hunt for, cook and then eat food to survive.

Having had a lot of experience with ingame foodstuffs, it is one aspect of RPGs that I prefer to have phased out of existence.

This coming from a girl who can really pack it in.

For more information, or rather less information but more food, visit the "Belly Bulge Buffet" which is in one of the furry sims.
