I bought a Dialuxe Hera Gold Skin and it is real nice except for one thing. The heavy makeup can not be changed in any way.The face details can not be changed. The shop (the one near the place) that sells it will not support it, said to contact the creator. The creator (that guy, whatshisname) says another created it and can not help. He did not care if his customers are not happy. This product is not worth the 2.5k. Go get a free skin, might not be as detaied but you can changed it to match your desires. This looks like a preteen put the makeup on.

I dunno you should be naming names. Though of course it wouldnt be much of a consumer warning if you can't tell us what you're warning us about, but thems the rules. If you don't edit it, I'm betting the next moderator along will.

I'm gonna guess that you didn't understand that many (perhaps most, dunno) skins cannot be modified and you didn't ask any questions about it before you bought it.

This is exactly how it's supposed to be. Skins are full body tattoos that cannot be modified without downloading the skin textures to a file, photoshopping them and reuploading everything. There's a texture for the face, another one for the upper body and another one for the lower body.

This is why demo skins are always good.

I've bought quite a few skins during my time in SL. Some I like and wear. Some I don't like as well and don't wear.

It's a bit like buying clothes in RL... we all have outfits in our closet we'll never wear again, for one reason or another.

The creators spend a tremendous amount of time making these skins. Just because I decide a skin isn't for me isn't justification (in my mind) to hold that against the maker or try to influence someone else not to buy from them.

Ranma, I've only seen one skin in SL that can be modified. They are all quite expensive and usually you have several makeup choices to choose from for each skin color. Look for a makeup that goes with your skin that is more appealing to you. Or if you want a modifiable skin go to Second Skin. Also, some skin designers will change the make-up for a fee if you are able to get into contact with them.

I personally won't buy a skin at all unless there is a demo skin for me to try first. You can try to get a refund, but in the future just know that most skins aren't modifiable and if you're not sure if it is or not contact the creator before buying.

sorry you feel so ripped off.

Well

OK

I have alot of skins, over 2000 now, and heres the deal, send me your shape (can be no mod, no trans etc) if you want, and I will try it on with said skin :P

I don't however own ALL skins ever, just most ;)

(waits for kritters shape to feel myself up)

If the creator/seller doesnt care, and wont support the crappy product, then who will give her the refund? 2.5 is an outrageous price for a skin when compared to current prices. If the demo was mod and the actual skin was not its misrepresentation. I see nothing wrong with reporting the facts about a vendor who is misrepresenting an item being sold and naming the name of the business helps the entire SL community. We really should have a consumers list warnign us against rip offs, scammers and misrepresentation.
