Preventing easy deletion of property

I'm paranoid about accidentally deleting my house when playing with prims at my new home -- particularly as that (prefab) home isn't copyable. I've certainly deleted the wrong prim whilst building once or twice this week, so I wonder if there's some kind of security option (or workaround) to prevent certain property from even being selected?

Thanks in advance.

I believe that if you lock things (check "Lock" in the editing window; it's near the checkboxes for phantom/physical/etc.), you get a confirmation message before deleting or moving the object.

Aha, and a pop-up window I'd completely failed to notice confirming that! Thank you. :-)
