With the arrival of P2P, land surrounding telehubs has plummeted in value,
To generate traffic to the former telehub land and thus help restore some of the value to the surrounding land I propose the following:
Remove the Help / Debug item used for filing bug reports from the menu system.
Install Bug Report Filing Machines at the former telehub locations,
Have two additional special purpose bug report report filing machines, one for Slow Geometry Loading and one for Grey Loading Textures Last Too Long And Look Horrible.
If a fair percentage of folks stop to see the surrounding sights, I believe this will more than compensate for the loss of teleporting traffic.
There could, of course, be problems caused by lag and the sim reaching the maximum avatar capacity due to the tremendous demand for bug report terminals.

Great idea except the Please Submit Report Here in Order to be Summarily Ignored or be Told That You Aren't Technically Sophisticated Enough to Be Playing This Game sign above them will likely discourage traffic.

Sure. Can we have scheduled demolitions for major road bypasses posted at the hubs, too? It's a really good idea, Sue. But I can't agree. Making bug/abuse/whatever reports artificially harder to submit would only piss newbies off. Further, what would the point be of giving the dwell to this land exclusively for no other purpose than what we - can already do without it? Oh, wait. That's the way a lot of dwell works these days. My mistake.

Since a sign such as you described would be displayed with a gray loading texture for far longer than the time required to file bug reports and go do some shopping in the local area and maybe take in a few songs at the neighboring clubs, I am not sure there would actually be a problem.

I would propose that bug reporting be done by an attachment using the llSendEmail function, like Strife mentioned having used for that purpose, but if this became too popular, it would surely bring the Linden Research email servers to a grinding halt, and possibly slow the traffic all around the entire internet as well. Such a bug report attachment could use the llDialog system to offer choices something like: From: someone Grey Loading textures destroy immersion repeatedly.
Geometry loading is far too slow.
Why can't we revert to: Please select version: 1.0, 1.1, 1.2. 1.3. 1.4. 1.5. 1.6. 1.7 etc.
LAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Other Person's Avatar(s) Invisible, Only Attachments Show, Gets Fixed By Changing Active Group
Where is my 1. car, 2. plane, 3. boat? The attachment could just detect position and rotation and automatically send a grey loading texture, slow geometry bug report anytime one's position or view direction changes by more than a few meters or degrees.

I say take all of the people who built the obnoxious buildings and advertizing there and pen them up around the hub areas to do some community service. In all my born days I have never been so happy to see P2P.

From: Issarlk Chatnoir nice troll I give it a 8/10 This thread is not an inflammatory message intended to disrupt discussion or to upset its participants. You have sullied my honor with your spurious accusation. I therefore challenge you to a duel! Not with me, though, I am not much of a fighter. You can pick someone else to have the duel with, if you want, or just not have the duel, whatever, I'm easy to get along with. I can supply some names if you'd like. The bug report kiosks idea is a joke. The grey loading textures and slow geometry rendering comments are serious gripes about the programs decreased performance tossed into some silliness. The bug report attachment that sends a pre-written grey loading textures email to support@secondlife.com was intended as a semi-joke but I think I will actually make one and give it out for free if it seems to work well enough.

Ok - I've held my tongue on this for a while so I apologise if some stored irritation comes across in this post... How about stopping relying on/lobbying LL to do something to make the telehub-shaped empty space interesting to potential customers and actually come up with some solutions yourselves? They've proven time and again recently that they are unable/unwilling to intervene beyond making system changes like P2P, and that residents are just going to have to fend for themselves to ride out the consequences. I wasn't for the P2P changes that were made - and argued against the complete loss of telehubs - but this seems to be becoming less and less successful with LL. Owners of 'telehub land' need to be more creative with the methods they use for drawing potential spenders to the location. Look on this as a challenging opportunity to be addressed with user created content and initiatives rather than simply giving up and pleading to the gods for deliverance. /vent off

Sorry to respond in a serious manner, but are you using standard Quicktime or the Quicktime alternative? Some people who have crashes with real Quicktime do not with Quicktime Alternative .
