Money trees are a bad idea to begin with. If you really want to help newbies, talk to them. Give them tips, show they where to go to learn. Just throwing some money into a scripted object that will randomly spit it back out is silly. How does that help anyone?

I then proceed to tell them that in any way I can try to help them I will. I used a money tree when I started and thought they were great. |

The money trees do encourage new players to move around the world to find them. Gets them going to new places and developing navigation skills. It was an even bigger deal back in the days of telehubs, when you had to fly to get to the money tree locations.
