Yes, that's me! I'm so sorry guys, I know you must get tired of newbies questions and gripes lol, but....... all I can say is YUCK!!!!! The clothes, not to mention my hair is just totally NOT cool lol!!! How is a new person in sl to go about looking decent with only 250 L to her name?!? I have heard of some of the freebie places, and I do plan of visiting, but I thought someone else may have an answer or help. Thanks in advance!

First of all, let me say "Welcome to your newest addiction!!" I'm still pretty new myself and I know JUST what your saying!! I have to say tho, there are alot of wonderful, helpful people on these boards and in sl that I'm sure will gladly help you out, as they have done, and continue to do with me. I've even had a few Lindens thrown at me Good luck!!

Redd Oasis offers free hair to newbies, so does Nat's Newbie Network and there are some boxes of free clothing at my place on Sala, Plaza Del Jardin. Good luck and have fun.

Go to the Free Dove for clothing, there are also some free skins there but I would go to the Gnubie Store and get the HoseQueen skin, myself (personal preferance, also try the skins at the free dove). Go to Gurl 6 and get a free hair voucher, you need prim hair, you can try on the demos, which cost a dollar, and then send Kennedy the form with your choice and color and you will get it for free. Edit to add, don't spend any money until you stock up on freebies, not even 25 linden. You may find it was a waste or a mistake and need that money later.

From: Mitzi Gritzi Wow, you guys are quick to the rescue!! Thank you so much! I can't wait to get home and start visiting all these places! I need all the help I can get! TRUST me! We all did, once. Also, at the Gnubie Store, you can get $1 hair from HQ, I lived in those ponytails and buns for a long time, they served me well. Yadnis also has some new clothing available. Then, learn to TP to every store you can in SL, become a discriminating shopper, there is so much out there, some of it is really nice and also very expensive, but you can also find real bargins if you are stubborn. $250 can disappear in a flash though, and blown on something that you wind up being disappointed with, too. That's why I always tell newbies to cling to that money until they are sure they need it. If you want to upload your own textures eventually, it can get expensive. (use all the free ones available everywhere to learn with first.)

IM me in world and I'll send you a bunch of free stuff. Also recommend you invest a little cash if you can and buy some lindens. 10 bucks will get you 2500. I also recommend Little Rebel and Bare Rose for shops that have very good clothing at very low prices. Bare Rose also has a whole pile of stuff for $1L. Disclaimer: I work at Bare Rose so there's a bit of a conflict of interest. However every newbie place in SL will recommend BR as newbie friendly.

Also check out UFOnly, which sells nice clothes and hair for the Upload fee, so tops etc are 10 L a piece. There's also a new dress set and an older set of dresses and tops and the like at Dazzle selling for 20L, and the stuff at dazzle is top drawer. Hope that helps. ^^

jes`Teasing - another location easy on those who are new
08-24-2006 12:58
Drop by jes`Teasing or jes`4`less. The upper floor store has full outfits for 59 L, including prim shoes and some flexi skirts. The lower floor store (jes`4`less) has clearance items all set at 10 L. There are also a few jes`Teasing boxes around SL that have many retired items all in a box market 10 L (Yadni's has this box for free.).
