Like Old Yeller, it's time we put this puppy down. It's part of a cancerous culture of whining and crying, bitching and moaning. And just like a cancer it spreads. Newbies find the old whiny beeyatches in here and decide that to become part of the in-crowd they have to become old whiny beeyatches themselves. And rather than finding new and interesting ways to do it, they simply plagiarize bad complaints by marginally better writers.
The density of whingery had long sinced passed that of substantive posts, informative posts, and thoughtful posts. When did it reach the point of no return? When a crew of whiners decided to grief the anniversary celebration and planned the griefing in public on these forums? When the "oh god I'm in europe and these updates ruin my ability to play" crowd began to monopolize the front page? When certain users decided to become part of a nattering amen chorus of whinatics, agreeing with any negative post they could, without ever actually considering whether or not the OP was making a cogent point? Why actually think about something when it's easier to sigh wistfully and wish for the halcyon days of yore, when men were men, women were women, and Linden Labs did everything exactly the way I fucking wanted it to?

What I couldn't stand, though, was the screaching extremities. The "fascist" catcalls. The grandstanding for the audience. The trying to score points with your buddies by seeing which of you can be the meanest. I think the reaon some people are complaining so much is that they will miss having their stage to strut on, not that they are upset about losing an avenue for dialogue with LL and other residents. _____________________
