Wow, what a day.

With all that's happened, I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to the hard working folks at Linden Lab, many of whom I'm sure had to give up the better part of their Sunday off to come in and clean up today's mess. This is the first such massive gride-wide attack that we've had to endure, and you guys did an awesome job taking care of it in just a few hours. Thanks for all that you do. You guys are awesome. :)

On a side note, I know you can't talk about it, but for what it's worth, I hope you'll press charges against the individuals involved. What they did could easily be defined as a DoS attack, and they deserve to face the legal consequences for their actions.

I was also really pleasantly suprised by how fast LL took care of this problem. Two thumbs way up.

Seconded and seconded

If we could, we should all pool some money and have pizza and caffinated drinks delivered to LL, they're going to need it between today and tomorow (upgrade day). :)

We'll call it Dindins for Lindens. :)

Seriously, though, thanks for fixing everything fast. It is rare for an online activity (hate to get tarred and feathered for saying "game";) to recover after a DoS attack or server crash/bug so quickly.

I'm in. Indigo Crew actually did this a while back after LL helped us out with a problem on the sim, and they were very appreciative. That was obviously minor compared to today. I'll give Flipper a call in the morning and see if he remembers the name of their favorite pizzeria.

o.O I was only half serious...I'm broke IRL, but if you guys really go through with it I can throw a few L$ to the cause...

aye, thanks for the fast response

Consider suing the individual(s) resolved for $$ to pay for overtime pay and the approximate bandwidth and commerce loss? How about we hit this/these wanna-bes where it hurts, and bankrupt them?

I'll contribute pizzas if LL decides to sue.

Incidentally, should LL decide to sue, it is likely that at least a few of these individuals will have their RL names become a matter of public record. Have fun dealing with the real life consequences, grief kiddies.
