preview land = higher tier?

Does anyone know if buying land in the preview affects your regular tier costs?

I want to buy some, but I don't want a higher tier for it.

If you don't have the tier it will become sale pending, but you won't be charged extra tier..

Land in the Preview Grid does not, unless they changed it and didn't send me the memo.

It asks you to upgrade your tier if you go above, unlike 1.7 preview, but when you go to the website it doesn't say you're over your tier..

does this mean I will or will not be able to play with the settings??

If you don't have the tier, you can't play with the settings, its what sale pending does, stops you doing anything with the land, but sort of reserves it for you, after taking you L$..

It didn't used to be like that, don't know why it is this time round..

This is just stupid!!!! I asked to be able to buy land in the preview so that I could play with the settings. Well Don gave some land for purchase and then some more money, but why on EARTH should preview land ownership have anything to do with our regular tier? Thanks a lot Don, apparently you didn't quite understand what I was asking. Do they really think people will tier up just to be able to test preview features or is this just another "oversight"??

I just wanted to make sure that once the new version comes out I know exactly what to do to protect my privacy...

Actually even if your tiered up your SL account I don't believe it would affect your ability to buy preview land, and the preview grid information is taken from several weeks (at least) before..

Were you saying that if I did tier up it would still show as sale pending? Or that I don't really need to tier up to buy the land?

Nevermind...I'm going to bed, when I wake up they'll be putting in 1.8 anyway, this would have been much more useful 4 or 5 days ago when I origionally requested some land go up for sale on the preview.

Tiering up would still show it as Sale Pending, because all the info in the preview grid is from at least a few weeks ago, including, I believe, your tier.. So it would still show up whatever it was already in preview..
