I know there are a lot of vendors in world. But I belive that more amazing vendors should be out there. Tell me cool vendors that you've ever seen. I'd like to know the possibility of that kind of things. Thanks.

Well, Michael Revere over at Power Products has a pretty nifty "catalog vendor" system. Your standard server/vendor dealie, but (a) cheap and (b) very graphical and fairly easy to use (although I've since discarded the setup he suggests in favor of just editing the notecards directly).

I mention it mostly because it's what I use.

Thank you Aliasi, I checked it out. :) It seemed to be neat but it was shame that I couldn't really touch it there. Also I don't understand what is server/vendor. :o

Ah. Well, rather than have a vendor with all of your stuff for sale, a server/vendor system instead has one server with your stuff, and vendors that take money, send a message to the server, and have it give the item.

This is very handy if you intend on having vendors in multiple locations.

When I was looking to buy a Vendo system, I saw a few, but the one that was recommended to me was the JEVN system by esmay Rand.

You load all your inventory including the images you want to display, into a server then fill out a notecard with inventory details. Then you assign each vendo you put out at all your locations to that server, type 2 commands on screen, and the vendos load with the inventory and images contained in the server.

Believe me I'm no techie, but once I was talked through settingit up by a friend that uses it, I was able to do it myself with no problems.

I thoroughly recommend it.

the Mirada (a vendor attachment) IS pretty cool , especially for someone with no real land of their own.

The Mirada.go-shop is pretty cool for nomads once you've figured out how to set it up and are good to go—wish there was more of that in SL, sort of like cyberbedouins or something. Spice traders!

Also, Konigmann Lippmann showed me a pretty kewl vendor of his aerospace schtuff that temprezzes and fades in and out. It' nice.

Thanks all. :)

Aliasi, I got how convenient the server/vendor system was. :) I've not sold anything on other places.

Damien, your shop is so nifty. I like it. Very impressed. :) I couldn't figure out how your vendor would show us items though. :p

Gemini, I saw also the JEVN system at the Damien's shop. I saw it be the most standard type of vendor but you meaned it would be faster to change showing next item? hmm.. awesome.

I've not seen the holographic type of vendor recently. Does that have a demerit so that it uses much prims depending on the item?

:D Sorry, Torley, I've posted this before checking out your suggestion, Konigmann Lippmann's vendor. That item changing effect is so cool! Thank you. :)

I use a halo vendor and I am very happy with it. You can set it so that the items are temp on rez, so they don't count against your prim count. You can also set it up so that it shows a picture as well as the item :)

You can always use my Super Vendor Kit - I keep a copy out in my shop, and there's an open source version in the script library.

Hi Kyia, thanks for informing. I've just been on The Crazy Bird, Edgerley (161, 116). :)
It took a little bit time to understand that it was your sale's item when the holo vendor was activated because your items fitted the background so much. :D Great work.

Yay, Hiro, Thanks. Of course I checked out your vendor first. :) I thought your vendor was the de facto standard. :)

I just got your HOLO vendor Hiro, its amazing! thankyou muchly for making it open source.

I was wondering if its possible to add a Temp on rez script to it?

I was hoping for once potential customers have veiwed my Miniture houses that after say a minute or so the house will dissapear to help keep lag down.

New Vendor
11-13-2005 19:07
I have a new vendor in beta test over at DL Designs in Cliffview Condominums and Mall.

secondlife://terminous/179/172/

It's using multiple screens to allow the user to see several items at one time, and then bring items of interest up to the main screen. There are several additional merchant features that I'll talk about as soon as I release it. I'd love to hear opinions on the usability though.

I think it should be mentioned concerning the Mirada.go-shop, which is very cool, but you have to detach the rezzor / arm device after setup and drag it out on the ground and THEN drag the new vendor from your inventory into the rezzor and reattach.

this apparently is a permissions bug with no transfer whereas you should normally be able to drag the vendor into the attached rezzor while its on your arm. Just thought i'd mention this to ppl because it took me a few tries to figure this one out and i'm glad i did

I have a load of free open source vendors, the standard one panel, the multipanel (my favourite) and the holovendor. They do everything the pay ones do apart from fluff like sales tracking and automatic updates (Kind of hard to work into opensource).

*Bust right now*

Jevn seems the nicest of the network vendors and it has a good price.

I have been looking for some meat vendors myself. I particularly am looking for pastrami.

I use Koni's Multi-Item, Temp-Rezzing vendor for my furniture. They work really well though they are a little difficult to setup initially. It's great to be able to temp-rez a 22 prim chair that doesn't count against the land prim limit. It also send you an IM upon sales, does all your accounting, and allows for sharing payments with other avies.

Just set the HoloPrim to be TempOnRez, IIRC from when I set it up.
