I'm sorry... wasn't even thinking about it. I don't know any of them, or anything much about all that stuff, it doesn't involve me. I don't really see why it should though. Am I supposed to take on personal issues between people I don't know? :(

I was just amazed at finally finding somewhere with a lot of really good menswear, and since we've been bitching about it lately, I thought I'd share. Excited to see good menswear coming out, that's all.

Well, I don't know what places Fade was excited about (or why he shouldn't mention them), but I went on a shopping expedition last night, and began to regret that I hadn't taken note of several places that had good men's things in them.

(Well, I think good, I didn't look at them all that closely, but if I were a man I would have, and they did look intriguing.)

But a list would be nice. I really ought to start a blog just for things like this - lists. Anyway, I did notice some men's things at Bettie's, 40's and 50's, and a rather large group of men's things at this place - GEEZ what was the name. It was at this Citrus type mall, and it was - the name was something beachy sounding. If I remember it before this forum closes, I will edit it in here.

You have nothing to feel bad about. The trainwreck of a situation should never have been made public. It doesn't change the fact that the principal people involved are all very talented and make great stuff. It is also a wonderful thing to see more mens clothing in SL that is not just gothic, camouflage, or a tshirt.

Thanks, Cristiano.

OK, I made a special trip into SL just to get that name right, knowing I may have only hours to put it here.

No wonder I didn't remember it - it is "VitaminCi/Estraordinaire/Pixel Deep on Ocean Drive."

The place is behind you when you land, and there is a sandwich board out front saying "Ocean Drive" on it. Like I said, I didn't look closely at the men's things, but there were a lot.

And Bettie's is some really neat stuff!

Bettie's is:

! 1-800-Bettie's 1930's - 1950's Retro Chic
Kyung 28, 140, 69

Thankyou Cristiano.

I was just excited at the fact that all of a sudden there's good menswear appearing and there's been an ongoing discussion about the lack of it. I like everyone's work, and I like supporting talented creative people - and between me and my two female alts :p, I support a wide range of designers. Those girls know how to spend.

I choose not to follow their personal disputes, as do most of their customers - I just like their stuff (and want to feel good about buying it), and tonight I bought Fade 12 pairs of jeans and more than 20 shirts, a new skin and more. That's more than I've found in total in the almost-a-year I've been here.

As it happens, I just got IMed by a guy I don't know... he just wanted to know the places. I shared some landmarks with him. That's all it was about.

That blog rocks by the way.

WELL, can you believe what all I bought, after a year and a half of buying nothing? Save one cute outfit off of SLExchange about a month ago. (Daul Shop)

I bought:

. a little black skirt and top number from "Adored Clothing"

. a 40's gray suit from Bettie's, along with two pairs of shoes and some stockings with seams

. an adorable pair of shoes from Luli - oh geez, now I know I'm spelling that wrong (another trip into SL shortly, I guess) - luly is her name (New MaHoRaBa!)

. a sweater dress set from Nuiiban (have to go grab that one, too), plus a trenchcoat jacket, a dress, and something else I forget now. (519 deSignz, Nubiian Craven)

That's just a whole lot, for me, the freebie clothes queen.

No, it isn't, is the thing; the quality of stuff that Fade's showing me right now (w00!) isn't subject to whatever bullshit drama is going on at the time.

Besides, forums are closing today. When better?

*sigh*

Poor Fade, heh. *hug*

He is just so excited that he finally found the clothing he was looking for.

Forget all that mess. Bleh.

I'm pretty happy with the outfit I normally wear... it approximates my normal slovenly attire. The shirt I wear comes in styles: open, closed, tuked and un-tucked in combinations. As per real life I vary t-shirts under a nice print shirt. The ones I liked best (in my limited shopping) were made by Robin Sojourner who has a clothing shop at Benten (23, 101, 28).

I guess it depends on the fashions you desire. I've bought clothes for special occasions (like the '20s attire for the Third Birthday Party), some Hawaiian shirts for my GTA Vice City build tests, and a variety of others I just thought looked well done.

Finding suits and fancy clothes seems easier than casual, but there are some options out there!

OK... I'll post all my current favourite spots, in the hopes that it helps some on their search... and I hope I don't forget any...

Barnes Boutique (essential), Tiny Seadogs, Elephant Outfitters, Vinson (hip, nice store too), the new menswear store at Naughty Island (amazing jeans), and for punk stuff, Beckenbauer Productions.

Shoes - Barnesworth again (the dress shoes!), YS Authentics, SF!, honourable mention to shiny things for their new 'Old Shoes' boot. Hair, I like Lashed, Lost's hair, and icky* hair seems to have a pretty good range of modern looking stuff.

Really good to see a lot more new stuff around for guys. :)

*disclaimer: list is bound to be missing some good stuff I haven't seen.
